Oh...thanks for this! My husband and I go to the Telluride Mushroom Festival every year in August and we need mushrooms for our parade costumes! I plan to make an "under shroom" blob to start a Lion's Mane mushroom and then finish it off by felting in some layers of some great yarn that looks very much like Lion's Mane. This would be carried by my husband on a stick. Then I'll make what you are making today to make myself a mushroom to wear around my neck! SO glad I found you...perfect timing!!

I hAve the hardest time doing shapes with a flat bottom .... So hard .... I can't figure out out to do a half circle with a flat bottom ..... Mine always have curled edges .... Help !!!!!!!! The only thing that I can think of is to make a ball and cut.it in half
We needle felt and taper it to the foam. Cutting a ball is possible, but making a dome is pretty easy. Just pile up a base layer, and then keep piling in the middle..you can do it :)
