I also just finished my wooting 60 build today, though i went for a bit of a deeper sound. I built the original plate in the tofu redux ( with the brass plate) and just took 1 layer of the original wooting padding. IMO it sounded better than with the plating that came with the tofu60 redux or without any padding. Now all i think is left to do is burger mount it and some point and add some lube if i find the time haha
Sounds good to me! I couldnt manage to really fit the one layer of wooting padding in mine - was it really tight fit? Also definitely recommend lubing the switches - did mine recently and its 👌
Thanks for making the video and saving me some money and time for not going with this mod as it sound very similar to my stock kb with the tofu case with brass insert.
As far as I know, the PC plate here is the only new one they released! (announced at the same time as the alumaze case) If a new plate comes down the pipe, I would be open to test that out as well, also I'm planning to do a few more tests later on (once I get my lubing kit) to explore using the foams provided with the plate as well as the stock case foam. Thanks for the feedback! 💙
Did you use the old foam between the pc plate and the pcb or the new foam that comes with the new plate? Because to me it seems like the new foam is not covering the whole plate. I don’t know if that is intended? Can I use the old foam still?
Oh yeah! I noticed that the new foam (with the pc plate is slightly different and doesnt cover the whole plate, I opted to try the silicon pad for in this video, but I assume the foam (both the stock one and the one with the new pc plate are made of the same material, in which case if I were to switch the padding (video coming in the future) Id probably just use the one that came with the board stock since it covers more. To answer your question, you should be able to use either foam interchangeably, no issue!
