I’d sand black paint off handle so wood can breath then linseed it several times. Don’t get me wrong cause…black ax’s matter!

I'm reasonably certain both the geometry and relative sharpness make this a tool for throwing only. Loved that Kuma was trying to help Dad.

Ugh! Just what I needed. Another axe I want to buy now! It looks a lot like my Prandi but I do like the black, straight handle made for throwing. That would be a lot of fun except that I would need to procure a B.O.A.R.D. Great review Bryan!

Hi Brian 🙂 .. it's a good axe quite compact , but as usual it's more valid for logs of a certain diameter . For batoning thinner branches or trunks a good knife works better because of the type of morphology itself as a tool ... greetings from Barcelona (Spain) 🪵🪓🔪🙂

Enjoyed your video and seeing your dog too. I think you'll like the Council Tool Flying Fox also. There is a pretty good story about the design of the head by Rooster. If you've looked at many vintage axes and hatchet, you may notice some similarities in the Flying Fox-also it's made in the USA. That's one reason I bought one. I've got some Revolutionary war design tomahawks (made in India) from Crazy Crow Trading that are also good throwers and general use tools with slip type handles.

12 feet for your average distance in throwing. Yes throwing axes is fun. But maybe put your beautiful dog in the house for that part of the video. And if you wet the bords the ax will stick better

That poor thing isn't even "AXE" sharp as you say , Brian. An axe or hatchet should be able to do the same job as a sharp knife should you ever be without a knife. As far as a throwing hatchet goes it'll pass.

It just need sharpening. But, to be fair, it does great at what it is designed for: to throw. And there is nothing wrong with that.

A throwing axe is just that a throwing axe, trying to use it for splitting wood and chopping is a misuse of it's design purpose. Put the dog on a leash or in a safe place what a distraction.
