Recorded from a late-night broadcast of the early Steven Spielberg TV-Movie SOMETHING EVIL (1972) on NYC local station WOR-9, on early Saturday, November 16, 1985.
Crazy Eddie ads, starring the manic former DJ Jerry Carroll, were ubiquitous on New York City TV in the 1980s, until the chain folded in 1989 (and a couple of brief online revival attempts in the 2000s).

It’s so weird seeing this programming, because it was once such an everyday part of our lives but now it’s become extinct.

That's very true, and is the same way with many other things, TV and otherwise. I recently turned 52, but I often feel more like 152, with how much TV (and pop culture in general) has changed since the 1980s/90s. Seems like things have a shorter shelf life today, and are generally more quickly forgotten and/or ignored, unless you go looking for (or stumble upon) stuff like this on RU-vid.

And since (W)WOR was a superstation, those Crazy Eddie commercials were also seen nationwide (even though they had their own electronics superstores).

Would you happen to have the complete broadcast? I have been collecting tapes from the tri-state area I'd love to have a copy of this and I'd be willing to send you something in return.
