Here's how to change a right hand block on a Worcester, also known as the return unit.
Soak all connections in WD-40 for a few mins beforehand and use plenty of silicone grease on the new parts.
The block had split on the cold mains side so needed replacing. When replacing the right hand block I always replace the flow turbine adaptor because it always breaks when you remove it and the PRV as well whilst I'm at it. The new block comes with a new diverter built in so you don't need to replace that.
A lot of people struggle with the bypass, but if you see in the video, I wiggled it out of the left hand block by removing the gas pipe connection so it gave me more room to manoeuvre it out.
Part numbers given below:
Right hand block 87161064420
Flow turbine adapter 87161064330
PRV 87161064310

Just done my first RH block today following your excellent video. I also did my second RH block straight after. Both boilers were CDIs Thanks for your easy to follow video. I also used your flow turbine adaptor video during the same repairs.

Great video mate, top quality filming as well. I'd say this channel is fast becoming my favourite for gas engineer. This kinda stuff is super helpful for myself, I recently qualified as a gas engineer so trying to pick up as much as I can before I go out on the tools.

You made this look so easy. The big question is how did you manage change the rh manifold block without cutting your hands. Worcesters pretty much always need a shock arrestor. Even if there isn't a water meter present. Slowly looking through your library of uploads 👍🏼.

Hi. What would you charge to do this job. I have a leak from exactly where you show in this video. I feel confident to attempt this as I have already replaced the flow turbine a few years ago. Just would like to know if it would cost a lot to get someone out to do it. Many thanks

Good job mate, how did you manage to get the return brass nut into the return manifold? Every time I do it, it’s a pain in the arse. Also what light are you using please?
@cputilitysolutions

Thanks mate, it took a lot of swearing and sweating! I tried to put it on a flat surface and then push the manifold onto it. The 2 lights I'm using are Unilite SLR 500 & 1750 👍🏽

Looking for a bit advice mate if possible. I change one of these today, the customer said the boiler was working before hand, boiler is now firing only for around 10 seconds after I've changed it and then locks, any advice? I'm thinking theres another issue going on?
@cputilitysolutions
@cputilitysolutions 4 дня назад
It could be air in the system after changing the block? If it's locking out then check what the fault lights indicate in the MIs
@allycoates24

@cputilitysolutions
@cputilitysolutions 4 дня назад
@@allycoates24 you might have a loose connection somewhere maybe as well. Don't panic, just let it lock out and check the fault lights and then just go through it step by step.
