It's stunning how much new construction is happening in the Kelley Square / Polar Park area of Worcester Massachusetts in March 2024. Some areas of this section are completely unrecognizable. How is this going to change this area of Worcester? Are enough new people really going to move into all these apartments? Are all these new people going to then change the nature of these neighborhoods?
Only time will tell!
It's still fairly shocking to drive through here and see just how much has been destroyed ...

I was back in the old town about 3 weeks prior to you and drove the same roads as you did! lots of change in my old home town. Most for the betta

The butcher that closed down was on Pleasant Steet at Tatnuck Square. It was Tatnuck Meats and Seafood, owned by Harvey Slarskey. He had been there for 50 years, and his son took over for awhile, but decided to close the business. Derrico's on Shrewsbury Street is still open.

Polar Park is a baseball stadium, home of the Woosox (Worcester Red Sox), formerly the Pawsox of Pawtucket RI. They are a minor league team.

The way to get the inner city more business is to close down the satellite malls, like the one that has the Five Guy's is one. Satellite malls pull business and people from the inner city and force everyone to drive and clog the roads to get what they need.

i don't recognize it at all. I'm not far. I used to live on Vernon hill many years ago, i just don't go that way. I had a '69 caddy convertable years ago, they got out of my way, had to be aggressive too,,, also had a factory horn that said, f you, lol, rather than 'excuse me" lol
