Funny story, but there is that meme that that western men think about the roman empire and that is kind of how we were raised to see it as something aspiring, cool, badass, and epic. So for YEARS I thought this word was simply ROMAN and understood the context. But then I learned it was abbreviated from romantitsism as in ideal/epic/badass and while it still made sense I laughed so hard at my mistake. But hey it works the same in my head!
