Commentary: Kumetsugu Ebizaki (Ebizakigumi)
Kumetsugu Ebizaki
The ‘Heisei Rebuilding’ of the Kintaikyo-Bridge occurred from 2003 to 2005. Kumetsugu Ebizaki was the master carpenter responsible for the rebuilding. He was born into a carpenter’s family in 1945; his grandfather and father were responsible for the bridge’s rebuilding during the Showa period.
