Me "Chima" for Nicaraguan ppl just means "it hurts" like me Chima el zapato but apparently for Guatemalan ppl it's a bad word lol. A more popular one is "gancho" lol for Salvadoran ppl it's just a hanger, but for Nicaraguan ppl it's a lady's V lol

Cabron has multiple meanings in Puerto Rico. It depends on tone. Like saying in a harsh way, it means asshole. Saying in a cool tone to a friend, it just mean dude. Other Latin American countries use it for like a guy that has been cheated on or if you add "-ito" to refer to little kid.

@@ade910 the term latino comes from the roman conquered regions that adopted latin and mixed it with their original languages, Spain, Portugal, Italy and France. Spain and Portugal conquered part of north America and all of south America, which is why those regions are known as Latin America. So latinos do exist. And yes people from quebec and Louisiana also qualify as latino since those regions were conquered by France and there are many french descendants there.

Okay, so I've been learning Spanish for a few years, but I by no means can speak it fluently. I also work at a restaurant, so whenever I see guests walk in and they are speaking Spanish I ask the hostesses to sit them at my table so I can practice. Well one time a beautiful Mexican girl came in and she was sat at my table. I introduced myself and asked her if she was cool with me trying to only talk to her in Spanish so I could practice. Everything was going great, estabamos hablando en espanol y I'm trying to flirt when I can. When I bring the check out I asked her if it was okay for me to "Coger los platos y tazas" I can't tell you how embarrassed I was. She laughed and asked what I meant in English and I was like any chance I possibly had was just gone. But, she thought it was funny and wanted to hangout sometime soon. So moral of the story is asking someone if you can f*ck their dishes isn't always a bad thing.

My great grandparents are straight from Mexico, and my grandparents speak Spanish fluently, but the culture kinda stops at my mom. It’s kinda sad as I see more and more of the Spanish speaking culture become more popular and appreciated, so much so that some people are beginning to want to be Latino or Mexican and I had that ability in my hand but I didn’t really grasp for it. Just wanted to share that with you. Remember to always love your culture and where you come from (also, love your videos)!

What are you talking about? Bicho in P.R. have always been used to describe male organ, this and a whole lot of other words that we use for it. Now that does not mean that we do not know that it also means insect, but we just don't use it that way. That also goes with a slew of other words we use to describe other parts of the body or things/objects. I'm sure that way way back people back home use to talk in Spanish properly, but that has change. This goes along with all other countries that speak Spanish, depending of the country you are from, they have change or invented new words to conform with that region. Either way, we all share one common thing and that is language. Cógelo suave!

I'm half Honduran and Mexican. one word that is Hondurans use to describe a cow in Spanish is "wuey", and my dad uses it frequently for when talking about food etc. For my mexican mom, "wuey" is used like to say "dumba**" if used as to insult or "homie" if you hanging out with a group of friends who happen to be Mexican. So I have to use "wuey" carefully on the daily, because it isn't a big issue to my dad, but to my mom, it's better not to mention it in the house.

I know she is literally translating “excuse me” into spanish which it is permiso, but that makes no sense whatsoever in the context she is using it. Sounds like a regular gringo trying to speak spanish by translating sentences in google translate.

prettysureful I live in the US but all my family is from Mexico, so in High School, here in Texas, most of us are Mexican and we’re forced to take a Spanish class because they don’t have teachers to teach any other languages, but the Spanish they thought us wasn’t Mexican Spanish so a lot of us would get certain words wrong and Spanish was my first language so I know it well, one day we all got so pissed that we failed this test that we yelled at the teacher saying shit like “wtf do you mean this word doesn’t mean this word” or “how is this not spelled right??” And she told us that we just don’t speak Spanish well and I yelled out “bullshit I can have a full on conversation with my abuelita in Spanish tf you mean?!?” And someone asked what type of Spanish you teaching us and she said Spain Spanish so I was like “Wtf!? If you know that we all are Mexicans why would you teach us that!!” We all complained to the principal and got moved to a different class 😂

I was playing with a Barbie doll and I wanted to put it up in a ponytail and I only knew how to say hair tie in Spanish (now I know I'm English) and hair tie for me in Spanish is "Cola." I asked my aunt "can I have un cola" and she looked at me soooo weird and she's like you already have one, i was looking around and told her no then she pointed my butt then she's like "there's your cola" and I was sooo confused then my mom explained to her that I meant hair tie and for her it's "Liga". And I felt embarrassed so I stopped saying Cola to other people now and say Liga to understand me more. Cola for Mexicans means butt or tail and for me that's hair tie
