If you always pick green, what percentage would you say that you get a gift and not a coin?

Yes, timing is everything! When the stars/glitter pulse on the presents, there will be one of the gifts that do not get the Stars / glitter. You must select this gift BEFORE the next pulse. This is crucial timing. If you miss it when it first appears, patience and this it will appear again. But it does take more time for that second chance to appear. But it will.

Assuming there are 15 portraits... the first time you have 2 choices from 15, 0 duplicates. Then it’s choose 2 from 13 new and 2 duplicates. Then c2 from. 11 new, 4 duplicates. 2 9 6 2 7 8 2 5 10 2 3 12 2 1 14 That’s assuming they don’t make some portraits more rare. But they do. I know this because I quizzed my group and we were missing the same portraits. So. They didn’t have exactly the same last few, but from a set of 4 we had the rarest covered. I’m betting the programming is simple: at the last 5, say, they let you have a chance at a new one every 20 attempts. The other 19 will be chosen from the common set. That makes it harder to complete. But doesn’t slow you down... unless they add one to the number of junk attempts before the next real chance. Or. At the new chance slot, they give you a 5% chance to get a new portrait. That’s a 95% chance to get a duplicate on the potential new portrait slot. The progression definitely slows down. Or... it could just be random based on the desired portraits simply being the shrinking target idea described initially...

I just started this wild animal portraits today. I think you would benefit from them, because each animal offers something different. For instance I had a wolf that offered 75 coins and two spelling bees and some brilliance. But it is a separate Brilliance from the regular game brilliance, if that makes sense. Each egg that you hatch will give you one animal, and if it is a duplicate, that is what increases what the animal offers. I know that on the playing homepage of the game, the animal that you have chosen has got a upside down raindrop above its head, you click that and you end up with hearts or diamonds as well as brilliance. This is what gives you hearts for opening or hatching an egg. When you play a puzzle and solve it, you also earn hearts . I still have not figured it out completely, but I believe it is 100% better than the butterflies. I do not open butterflies 😩.

I think it is more complicated to explain than it is to play and figure it out for yourself. But what I recommend, is to go for one set of Wildlife, concentrate on hatch one colour of egg only.

Well it's been 2 months since I started to play the Wild Life it does give you advantages. I have collected all of them, however I have decided only to go after one egg and to concentrate on only the handful of wildlife that it offers with that egg. I don't need to use all the creatures. There is a meaning and a reason for everything that you would do with these. I think it gets rather confusing.

Eggs have been around for a year??!? OMG. I just updated today. The eggs hatch animals as desired in other comments. Some animals are quite rare. I think they come from blue eggs. Maybe red eggs. These animals give bonuses that help during the weekend tourney.

I’m betting it’s like other mobile games. They only play videos if advertisers have paid for them to. You might have hit a time when the random number of videos for that time slot is maxed out. Another might be ready right away. In a half hour. Or an hour.
