Work Sucks! Funny Posts to Enjoy Instead of Working 

Not a job, but I have a mental illness and have been in the hospital a couple of times. I was more recently in a rehab program and was discussing hospital stays with the other people there. I mentioned how when I decided that I felt well enough to make an effort with my appearance and put some makeup on, I had to be accompanied and watched by a staff member lest I get self destructive with my cosmetic containers. Someone else piped up “OMG! I was there with the girl they had to make that rule for!” 😳

At work one time, we had to involve ourselves with a ‘safety program’ that was more theatre than substance. The Union went along with it as we knew sooner or later the company would either jury rig it or abandon it altogether. We had to sit for an entire day, three times a year, at a meeting concerning this safety program. And once they fancied it after playing Jeopardy by answering as you would on the TV show. The answers always involved something in the program and we had a bell to ding every time we wanted to answer. The table I was at hadn’t answered a single question all day and the program presenter wanted our table to answer the last question and the answer was to be “going home safe and healthy” but I put my hand up when someone else went to ring it and dinged the bell as hard as I could and answered “Atlanta Georgia”. The whole room burst out laughing and the presenter glared at me whilst saying the correct answer.

My boss once made the mistake of saying, "these are your goals, write what you want." So I wrote, "To get one year closer to retirement". Yes, I was 'asked' to change it.
