Work underway to secure dike breach in central China's Dongting Lake

Emergency work is underway to close a dike breach on Monday at Dongting Lake, China's second-largest freshwater lake in central China's Hunan Province.
The breach occurred at 5:48 p.m. on July 5 in Tuanzhou Township, Huarong County, administered by Yueyang City in the province, causing flooding in the area. The breach was about 10 meters wide initially but expanded to around 226 meters later. As of 6 p.m. on Monday, four vessels had been arranged to dump blocking materials into the water at a designated position every two hours, said emergency workers on site, adding that at least 40,000 cubic meters of stone and other materials are planned to be dumped on Monday.

The US: We need to drain the lake. We need to evaluate the damage. We need to sue god for this. Insurance does not cover dike breach. This will cost taxpayers billions. It will be fixed in 10 years.

Before squander money away on unknow foreign countries and unknow foreign peoples, there are a lot of important and "unseen" infra structures needed to be built or updated for China and Chinese people. Like deepening all lakes and rivers, build flood basins, flood channels, reinforcing dikes, riverbanks. Clear all deposit(a few thousand years of deposit in lakes and rivers) in the rivers ( I saw huge deposit at (Chong Qing) YoungZi river. There are a lot of projects all over China NEED to be done "quickly". Those are big money projects without glory .

今は上流の三峡ダムの放水量を減らして、決壊箇所の修復をしているようだが、そろそろ三峡ダムの流入量が増えて、三峡ダムの決壊も心配されるので今後放水量を増やすしかない。　その場合には、まだ決壊していない場所でも新たに決壊するかも？？

敬佩每一个奋斗在一线的工作人员，在国内基本看不到这些。令我反感的是，在合堤时，一群拿着红旗的人愉快的从两侧融合在了一起，本来应该是弥补过错的工程似乎变成了歌颂领导的面子工程！我同情每一位受灾的人，但是这种面子工程真的很恶心，不知道国外的朋友们，你们的政府有没有类似的行为？

水流太快了，有兴趣的话可以看看刚开始的视频，当初裂口只有几米的时候，就开始往里面扔装满沙石的卡车和轮船了，但是没有效果，裂口扩大到两百米才停下，所以这是在水流平缓的时候直接施工重新浇筑的临时堤坝

堤防が決壊したら、湖水が全て市街地や農地に流れ込んで、湖底が現れる程に干上がってしまいましたね。日本軍の追撃から逃れる為に、蒋介石が破壊した黄河の堤防の規模を知らないんだろうね。　堤防の斜面や少し離れた場所から見れば、山ですよ、山（笑）

In the USA, it would take ten years to first talk and plan about the feelings of all concerned parties, the politicians and all other craps; after enough dead corpses/casualty, they would start pointing fingers and blaming other parties, never themselves, for their incompetency and inactions.
