A dictatorship govt will not allow the people to choose. Even our elected president Ong Teng Cheong whose duty is to take care of our reserves is not allow to ask where is our reserves.
Why was the entire segment of Dr. Daniel Goh's speech, many other's important speeches being cut out from the supposedly "LIVE" telecast on StraitsTime's RU-vid?
Dear Worker Party, please help me to ask our dear government why they sponsored so many foreign students here to study in our local polytechnic & university? And after they graduate, all they need to do is to fill up an application form, they get PR already! The worst thing is that after they graduate, their job is not related to course they studied! So why r we paying them to snatch our own rice bowl? We as Singaporeas need to pay for our own fees (Myself & many of my local classmates need to work part time in my poly days to support ourselves). Some of my friends in ITE struggled so hard but the results r not enough to get into local poly or university. When i step into society, we have to compete with even more foreigners from all over the world. In order to stay competitive, we have to work full time & study part time. The stress can really make one crazy! Now i have 3 kids. I start to fear... Cos by the time they need to go to poly or uni, i might not be able to pay for their fees cos my cpf is already emptied to pay for our HDB flat. I do not wish my children to go through what i have been through. I hope our government can give Singaporean priority over foreigners in local poly & uni... & stop pushing us to ITE.
+celest lwa as a student from a secondary school that houses asean scholars, i totally agree. and the thing is, immediately after their studies they like dump all their textbooks. I've seen it happen before and I've seen some of my juniors digging the big blue recycling bin to take the books lol.
+Chuhao Wang Hi, i m not blaming anyone. Everyone come from a different background. I come from a very poor family and this is what i physically encountered. I went to ITE before i got into poly. In between i tried to find a job with my Higher Nitec. It got me nowhere n i m not only one. That's how i push myself to go further which is a good things that our govt "encouraged" us to do so. (encourage = someone use words to support, we ourselves must take action) I m really curious y r my local friends stuggling to get into local sch while our govt sponsored my foreign classmatessss to come here & sleep inside the lecture hall. When i worked with an MNC, i meet more foreigners, all kinds of degree from the our neighbouring countries, is either it is irrelevant or the standard of the degree is equivalent to our Nitec. In terms of work performance, it is subjective to judge. Some good some really problematic.
Why is first 10 mins. or so, when no one is speaking, included in the video. Is Straits Times trying to discourage people from watching after such a long wait.. Important parts like Daniel Goh's speech left out.
Singapore First World Standard, ST why there must be a DISRUPTION? Only Looses will do this kind of act. Government WITHOUT 1/3 of STRONG OPPOSITIONS in the parliament there will be NO Ombudsmen. Singaporean VOTE WISELY on Sept 11, 2015.
What I hate most about PAP is until now they don't talk about their policies or what are they going to do to help the people survive in this trying times, they only bother to bad mouth the oppositions, to me it's very childish and in-mature. we really have to think is this the kind of people we want to be our MP to represent us? Do we want this kind of people to be our Ministers? I think overall the opposition are behaving much more matured, the very least they are man enough that there are flaws in their account procedures, this is the fact for every companies, it's impossible for any companies to be flawless in their account as it's operated by human, that is why we need corporate auditor to check as part of proper corporate governance. The scary thing is Mr Goh actually PAP can check themselves, this is crazy! It means they actually think that they are perfect, it's against all common senses and proper corporate governance.
Ong Teng Cheong is the only president who really execute his respective duties. Salute and kowtow to our late president! It's a lost to the citizen of Singapore.
From republic of singapore we became united nations of sigapore and we feel as if we are foreigners living in our own country thanks for making us jobless PAP
As our nation matured, we need more divest voices, divest representation, divest political parties in parliament. One dominant political party rule our nation is no healthy.
I think it is incumbent upon the service provider of this site to ensure that the quality of the recording is excellent instead of asking to be excused for the disruption. You also have to take ownership to rectify those disruption and not simply excused yourself. After all Singapore is a city of excellence and always strived to be.
why can't the recording of the event be onsite? why must it be recorded over the air since there is no multi cam operation. why make things complicated and now we have to watch a cockup video.
+BurningSpirit it's stupid to think that anyone who goes to a particular party's rally is a supporter of that party. 50% of them are just there to assess what that party has to offer compared to the ruling party lol... So I guess WP didn't really convince the people about their story of AHPETC and also what they can offer
Really thks for the video but pls minimize the disruptions especially towards the last 20min, can't see anything and audio was bad. thk you for the effort
Dear Voters, pls vote wisely and bravely for our future Singaporean children. Our Great Grand Parents worked very hard so that our Singaporean children can have a better future and can retire at old age without having to pick cardboard or competing with foreigners to survive.
can someone just tell me where's the resolution to our problems in the speech? it's 3h I do not have the time -.-.... if there's no resolution why should we consider them...? everyone must consider who gave us the plans that other countries don't have....
no matter what, its in our best interest to go in with an open mind, listen to the speeches, view publicly available information, see the changes extended by the party begore coming to any conclusions.I don like the PAP's policies in regards to economic decisions, public policies focusing on housing, transport and finance. Ultimately even if i don like PAP, i understand the dilemma that some of my friends are facing when their only choice is PAP or RF/NSP or whatever clowns. But considering that people like MBT and LTY can represent us, I ask, where is the only elite class that we accept into our party go to??TPL?TCH? are they talent? some of the pap are quick to fire off senseless remarks over the internet..where is the professionalism, wisdom or constructive input in those. All I can say is, a fruit seller always say his fruit is the best..our duty is not to vote for opposition or incumbent as we see fit, but to listen, understand and place weight on the vote. All the best to TPL for her election..
I suggest opposition to have a share in Temasek GIC funds so that they can utilize the finance and we can see the outcome when money is evenly distributed instead of narcicisstic control, grow up and give up your excessive wealth,we don't need material wealth in the afterlife, our soul gains when we give.
Basically 80% of Chairman Sylvia's Lim speech was " Disrupted" . No other sources of videos to cover the part ? Media nowadays really improved rapidly.
Paying such high salary to PM and ministers, is consider as the ppl serving you already. Not you serving the ppl. Do you mean if they are paid lesser. They will be corrupting or not be able to perform to their best? Than such calibre ministers we do not want! High salary to uphold integrity? Is not the selfless, morally upright candidates that we should be expecting. Still taking private market salary rate, but immune from consequences when they made mistakes or do not perform to standard, and they called this meritocracy? Disappointed by pap.
I can see that they are aware and addressing the issues we average Singaporean facing. But I doubt they can do better than PAP. Although we know how bad is PAP but PAP know how to win the heart of Singaporean. And they have more experiences than other party. Sigh
+Debmey Tan Erm.... did you actually watch the video? They addressed it several times throughout this rally, and the information is freely available for public review. Please try to keep an open mind, explore the relevant avenues for unbiased information and avoid any sort of confirmation bias. I'm a Bishan resident, and I'm voting for PAP. But that doesn't mean that I allow myself to make snap judgements that are ill informed. It's our job as voters to educate ourselves as best we can on pertinent issues through our own due diligence in order to make the best, most logical decision possible when voting for our future.
+Debmey Tan Where is the kindness of singaporeans? Isnt it sad to mumble such words of people who make an effort for Singaporeans? See yourself in the next 20 years. This is how you would end up,
No they didn't. Sylvia did nothing to explain why their audits are all qualified for the last 3 years. She also did not explain why FMSS replced the previous managing agent which had 2 years left on cotract.
+Debmey Tan Hi Debmey, people like you are like the other party. Speak big words with such minimal evidence. If you come here to trash people's rallies, then I can see how you should be speaking good of yours instead of speaking bad on others.
They may sound convincing but do they have the experience?the money?how to spend wisely? Let that sink in for a moment but will they do what they've promised to us?think again
Most of them are reading from their speech papers! If you know that your capable then should know what your doing from the very first start! Anyway Goodluck!
you tell a taxi driver that you will increase their income and tell the passenger that you will reduce their transportation cost at the same time. so tell me how to figure out?
+TP Fan True. But yet, many unfortunate Singaporeans are still digging to survive. The rich gets richer, the poor gets poorer. Even with some money provided, these people face difficulties one couldn't dream about going through their daily lives. We need to seek improvement in these people. And not giving incentives to the younger generations who are well-educated and equipped with world skills than other generations. In years to come, many may fall into greater danger to seek their health, education, jobs and houses in Singapore. I can see PAP been building up Singapore. But, the chances for them to continue such schemes are inefficient.
+TP Fan Really? Why shy to say no TP Fan no P$P. Before P$P came into the political scene in 1946 Singapore was an enterport. A trading hub and financial hub of Asia. Singapore is not a "fishing village" like your master had brainwashed you. Go and take a good look at all the old photos of Singapore's Fullerton area in the 30's and 40's. LKY came up with a fairy tale story and people like you believe him, SAD.
+TP Fan Sorry but,Singapore was fine all along with William Farquhar and Raffles rule,it was not modern but atleast it was peaceful.Pap was formerly an opposition party, you are just living in fear of change.
I cannot believe we are living in an IT age where one can easily assess to past history record and all the evidences and yet many educated people still believe that a charming prince came along and kiss the frog that turn into a beautiful princess.
Ironic thing is that they can say so much shit during rally and election times, and then when they in parliament, they are like a mouse, what's the use?
the truth is always hiden from Singaporean. what to do scare to lose la. who dare to do this. ayo u know i know la. WP would never do such unhealthy pratice.
Are we going to vote for a party who rely heavily on scripts? Singaporeans are you? Will you? Think my fellow Singaporeans. Are they going to address every issues with a script, in the future? Guess I need a tissue if that happens. Hope not.
As our nation matured, we need more divest voices, divest representation, divest political parties in parliament. One dominant political party rule our nation is no healthy.
Dear Voters, pls vote wisely and bravely for our future Singaporean children. Our Great Grand Parents worked very hard so that our Singaporean children can have a better future and can retire at old age without having to pick cardboard or competing with foreigners to survive.
