Did you compile the image yourself or use one you found online? I am undertaking the same project with a few "Improvements" and am having trouble finding a good starter image.

I wish I know these guys earlier. If they're keep making more of Pip Boy 3000 or anything else they can make a lot of money. That there's Talent they really should do that.

IMO the bad audio quality gives this a unique sound, as if it has been in use for many years, or was in the nuclear fallout, it ads some authenticity to it I feel

Cool as a fairly authentic replica but I'm wondering about a smaller, lighter-weight version put together from a Pi zero and the screen with the header removed and possibly direct-soldered. I may have to give it a go.
How come a low grade youtuber can make a ground breaking lore working peace of tech, and Bethesda (the Creators of the lore and tech) make a plastic pice of trash that doesn't work or even have a crazy fm-am radio... (the damn fallout 4 pip boy only works if you put your phone in it -.-)
i would love to do this myself if i had any idea where to start and what all exactly id want in my pipboy considering i want it to replace my smartwatch. that way my partner can have my galaxy watch and i can wear a pipboy everywhere lol seriousness
3 hours of battery life? That won’t do. What if you get pin downed in a unfavorable location in the wasteland? How are vault workers supposed to complete a full day of work? This is a disaster.
Is there any way to make the volume run off a dial also? I just bought the 2000 Mk VI kit and am planning to modify it with a raspberry pi. I want it to work with the dials that are on the pip boy and leave the touch screen out, I am doing this for a more accurate pip boy.
Hi! I'm looking into making my own pip-boy, however i want it to be able to play "Holotapes" A.K.A. I would like to be able to inject code so that it can run something like an ATARI Emulator for the holotape games so that it's able to be played straight from the pip boy and that a usb would be a collection of "Holotapes" (Atari roms that would be compatible) Please reply as soon as you can

I've been trying to make my own interface for a while now. However, I don't think I got a good touch screen (Barely ever works). I had used a Kuman 5" touch. Anyone else had problems with it?

something like this would come in handy in case a zombie apocalypse were to happen. Though you would need a lot of straps for your weapons like your rifles, and pistols/ revolvers. plus a backpack for Food, ammo, camping supplies, compass, bathing supplies and so on.
How long did it take you to finish Pip Boy 3000? It really looks fantastic & so accurate in Fallout 3 to New Vegas I really like it. I wish I can buy it, it looks so much better than the Fallout 4 pip boy & fallout 76 pip boy 2000 what Bethesda made. well done. 👍☢
+CelluloidHoax Yes. Initially I was using two 4900mAh 18650 batteries, but when I switched to a pair of 9900mAh batteries I got more than 7 hours of runtime on a single charge. This will likely decrease over time due to the nature of rechargeable batteries and this was with the sound turned off, but I was quite happy with it.
hello i am trying to make a pip boy out of a raspberry pi i want it to look like a pip boy with the green screen little bursts of static running down it all that stuff but i want it to be a on board computer like i can still use it like a raspberry pi if anyone knows of an OS like this for the raspberry pi PLEASE let me know
