In this video I am going to share with you my experience of working as a student midwife in Tanzania, Africa on my International Elective Placement with Work The World.
Rather than just talking the whole time I'm going to share lots of photos of my trip so I really hope you enjoy them - timestamps below if you want to jump to the parts you are most interested in.

Midwifery Abroad is very different to working as a student midwife in the UK, and this experience taught me a huge amount about working as a midwife in a third world country and how lucky we are in the UK to have the resources we have.
I had an amazing time and wanted to share it with you guys, particularly if you yourself are considering booking an elective midwifery placement for part of your training.

A bit about me:
I am 30 years old and live with my wonderful fiancé who I will be marrying in June 2021. I am a tea-drinker, a foodie, and a lover of theatre and music. I qualified as a Midwife in September 2019 and have been working as a fully qualified Midwife at a UK hospital since October 2019.
I run a blog over at www.agirlonajou..., in which I have documented my training to be a midwife as well as all things lifestyle, food and wedding. I continue to post regularly on there so please do check it out!
