Working at a Sugar Mill 

Louisiana sugar mills are an important part of sugar cane production. The LSU AgCenter plays a key role in developing new varieties of sugarcane and in assisting sugar cane producers. Assistant professor Anurag Mandalika reached out to staff at several sugar mills to find out more about challenges they face in meeting the demands of maintaining a strong workforce. This is an area crucial to reliably producing sugar, molasses and other sugarcane products.
