I am a 19 year old sophomore majoring in Psychology. I am a mental health advocate and I aspire to become a Neuropsychologist, who studies the physical and behavior/mental aspects of the brain. I am currently creating a project called "Holding On" which is dedicated to helping people (particularly teens, young adults, people among the minority group) with their mental health and daily issues. I create content based on lifestyle, psychology, school, and vlogs or days in the life.

Watching this is interesting to me. I work at one that cross trains between front of house and back of house. Our set ups look different. I am currently nearing the end of Section Leader training right now (then going on to Team Leader training). Not only are we cross trained through the store, they're now cross training some of us open availability between the stores our store owner owns (So I am at the other store once a week now).

Hi! Thank you for watching, and I'm happy to hear that the video was interesting to you.💕 I never cross trained in the back. Foh was my favorite, so I did not want to cross train in boh. Do you like both of them, or do you prefer a certain one? I'm sure that cross training between other cfa franchises is really fun. A lot of my previous coworkers have been cross training at different cfa franchises, which I think is really cool! Have you been able to travel to cfa franchises in different states?

@@ShandericaC I like both FOH and BOH but my preference is dependent on the manager admin. I have one manager admin that I love being on the expo line with but another manager that I prefer to be in the kitchen because otherwise I'm thrown on register for a whole shift. I haven't gone between franchises or to other states yet but I do enjoy getting to go between stores. I absolutely love my franchise owner and his whole family (his whole family works in the stores, too). I am frequently picked on like a little sister by the owner's middle child (second son) whenever he's at my location.

I totally understand. That's awesome, and it's great that you enjoy working at your franchise. Working at cfa was always fun because we were all like family. I had a great franchise owner, too. I still talk with everyone when I see them. I hope you continue to enjoy your time working at cfa and go on to do great things. 💕💕

I'll say be patient with yourself and understand that you may catch on to certain tasks faster or slower than the next person and that's okay. Hey!!! I just got my schedule for training. What do you recommend me to wear when I still don’t have my uniform, can I wear regular(simple no profanity) clothes with non slip shoes. Or do I need to wear a colared shirt?

Hi!! This is great!! I recommend wearing a solid colored red shirt and dark colored pants or jeans. If you have non slip shoes, that will be great. If you don't have non slip shoes I think you'll be okay. When I trained, they told us to try to wear some black shoes. Be careful though, so you won't slip. 💛 I used to work FOH, but it may not matter what color shirt you wear for training since you work BOH and won't be in front of guest all the time. I hope this helps. 😊

Heyyy!!! I just want to ask about something, so when I applied in indeed it said starting pay was $13 and will raise to $14.20 after training. But when I got to orientation last week the manager said it’ll $11.50/hr for that orientation. is orientation rate the same as training rate? or am I supposed to get $13hr when im training. This is my first ever job sooooo I really don’t know how pay goes. :)))

Hi!! 😊 This is something new to me because I didn't have a starting pay that high which is great 😁 and it was more of starting off at $8 then working my way up. My pay did raise as I continued to get better and better at the tasks I was assigned. We also were allowed to request raises I think every month. I recommend asking a team leader or director about this if you are comfortable, but I don't see why the starting pay is not $13.🤔 But, like you said it could be $11.50 for orientation, $13 for training, then $14.20 after training. Lol! No worries though because you're going to do great and therefore they won't "forget" to give you that raise that was promised to you. Also, I'm super proud you!!!🎊🎉💛

Hey do you know what happened with that? I got hired as a team lead and it was supposed to be $13 but it says I’m at $11.50 right now. I start orientation on Tuesday and wanna make sure something didn’t get mixed up :)

Hi!! Yes, I do recall it being every Thursday. We got paid every two weeks. I think if you have your paycheck deposited directly into your bank account it will come faster than just getting the check by hand. I hope this helps. 💛

There would be checks ready around the 14th...like the third week and then another one close to the end of that month...the fifth week. Then I also saw that checks would be ready around the beginning of the month like the second week and then another the fourth week. So, there would be two checks given out every month. 💛

does leaders assign you to a certain position at BOH while training?

Yes, there are leaders for BOH and they will tell you where you need to be. Sometimes there will be directors leading as well. 💛 While in training, they may have you switch to a different position during the day so you can learn more but that happens when you're done with training too lol! It's fun!

Hi! Congrats on your interview!🎊❤️ It's okay to be nervous, but you don't have to be. There is no right or wrong answer when you're being interviewed, they just want to get to know you as a person. If they ask questions, it may be "common sense" questions such as how to handle a situation involving the guest's order being incorrect. I was interviewed by myself, but I did orientation as a group with other new team members. There may be two or three people waiting to be interviewed after you. Maybe they do the interviews differently at other franchises. 🤔 You may be asked questions such as where you see yourself in five years, why do you want to work with cfa, what are your goals, etc. You're going to do great. 😊

Hi!!! Of course you'll get paid. Anytime you're working, don't clock out until you're finished and a team leader says you can clock out for the day. Usually if you work a day you're not scheduled, you may be covering for someone else or the team just needs an extra hand. There was this app we used called Hot Schedules and that's where we saw our schedules and requested off. That's also where we released shifts or picked up shifts, but of course we had to have a team leader's consent.💛

@@ShandericaC yes! we use HS team app aswell, they just changed my 5:30 - 11pm shift to 2-11 for spring break. I don’t have to worry coming in unscheduled now, Thank You!!!

i just got hired, my availability is 5:30pm to 10:00pm because of school. Will I have to close as well and go home around 11:30pm ish? Will they change my schedule to just be out at 10pm?

Hi!! 😊 Chick-fil-A usually does a pretty good job at looking our for their students with school and extracurriculars. I'm sure you will be out at 10pm and not have to close. I recommend talking with one of your directors or team leaders. 💛 Congratulations!!🎊🎉💛

So payday was last week the 8th and was also my second week training, I havent got paid yet, and next payday is next week 21st, will they just combine all 4 weeks of my work to that payday next week, and get my regular pay after the 21st?

Hi! I do agree that bagging was difficult, but it depended on the time and if BOH was holding on sandwiches, fries, fruit cups, etc. Traffic usually slowed down a little after 2 pm, but there was a day when it got super busy and I had to have help. Sometimes, doing drinks and taking orders at the same time can be difficult. The good thing is if it ever gets stressful, other team members will help. 💕

Usually everyone clocks out on the same computer. The one we used wasn't used to take orders, except for catering orders. A team leader or member can help you, but first you'll need to get your pin from your director. 💛 I hope this helps!! I'm so happy for you and I hope you have a great time working at Chick-fil-A. 😊

Hi!! Usually CFA has full time positions unless they are strictly looking for part time. I would say it depends on which CFA you are applying to because some may only be looking for certain positions to fill. If you apply or ask for full time, I’m sure they will make a way for you.
