I've been there almost 5 years and I make 27.75 an hour now. Not a bad job but I'm thinking of quitting because they keep messing up with my time. Make sure to write down your hours.
They’re generous with you all, especially if you’re able to have 3 unloaders to a truck. In Dallas it’s only two. I used to work for ups 4 years ago but I’m going back because I was hired to work for UPS Air Freight making $19/hr. I thought Cali would be much higher meaning I’m from there, usually the pay is higher. Thanks for your video.
They are cutting the wage back 1/22 but Redmond WA (Microsoft) is the highest paid for Xmas in the country. This year it was 26 an hour. Not sure what it will go down too.
Loaded trailers at FedEx ground in highschool, Ive been a truckdriver for 14 years now, thinking about package handling at ups to get in as a driver, hope I can still handle it.
Bruh I just started last week and I’m already ready to quit. Imma good worker. Never quit before and worked at hell of different warehouse companies. Ups is by far the worst business I ever been with. We dont get a break and we work 5 plus hours and they lie about what time we get off. Everyday it’s a different time. And the work is like slaves and hold us hostage saying we can’t leave at the time we supposed to
😂😂That’s why it’s called U.P.S. Under. Paid. Slaves.I only stayed for 2 months I had applied for part time 5hrs it said but when I started they had me working 6hr shifts then some days it’d be 8hrs because they told me I had to stay. Each day I’d be guessing what time I’m out which is ridiculous. Then breaks are really 10 minutes the time I went to bathroom and back be like 5 mins left. The job ain’t it tho. Congrats to the people who stick it out
@@jujusunstoppable ik im late but under paid slaves is hilarious even more so considering “under paid” and “slave” in the same sentence don’t make sense🤣🤣🤣🤣
“Is it worth it?” If you’re trying to be a package delivery driver (makes $80K-$120K a year) then yes it’s worth it. UPS will only hire a small number of drivers off the street, so 80-90% of their drivers are people who worked as a package handler in the warehouse for at least a year and put their names on the seniority list to become a driver. Similar for trailer drivers ($120-$180K per year) but requires a CDL (commercial driver’s license), which UPS may pay for you to get if you agree to drive for them.
Yo tell me why I thought I was a bitch but when I be seeing other people comments they be exactly how I feel , been working there part time as a package handler for a week and my supervisor and manager are dickheads I had no training and they expect me to know how shit works smh I wanted to make it a career but I’m just there for christmas money now fuck this slave shit
Man the difference in mentality between a preloader and reloader is ridiculous. I listen to these preloaders complain about what they gotta do and what's expected of them. The job is NOT supposed to be easy. You are not Gonna get get good pay and excellent benefits with an easy job. Ups want their money's worth out of you. You can become a driver and get to top driver pay $41/hr way b4 you go thru college and find a job. Gotta start at the bottom of ladder.
@@meoutthispiece9015 good luck. And remember it's not supposed to be easy and ups don't want it to make sense they want it to make dollars! So when you are scratching your head wondering what's going on, don't worry that's the way ups wants it. LoL NEVER expect the sups to help you either
@@paidslave1217 that's not bad tho working my way up to top driver. Do they allow the driver to carry concealed just in case of robbers and loose big dogs?
@@yorkchr123 I actually ended up not applying there. I'm just working at a gas station one day a week now while going to college.good luck though. I hear for skinny people you will be sore for a week or two but then your body will adjust to the workload and also you'll gain muscle. Good luck!
Word... UPS is super dope... I just got hired I'm fired up.. Package handler FO-SHO! dope. I'm also in Cali also.. Dope! Dope! Dope! Great company! Great Benefits! BOOOOM!!! CAREER PATH FO-SHO!!! I look forward to the Peak comin up... Some serious $$$$
@@aparabeats3498 I applied through indeed a while back and they recently had a Hiring event I R.S.V.Pd amd showed up filled out the Packet and turned it in then went on the ups.com/careers site . Then they give u an orientation date. And tell u to bring two forms of I.D. that are acceptable from their list. (Drivers license, state I.D., Social security card, green card, passport.) Then u attend 5 days of training (paid training) 14.50$ per.gour was the hiring pay rate at the time I got hired Probation period is 70 days.. Medical and dental benefits kick in after 9 months Raises are every year...1.00$ Drivers opportunity is after you've been there for 6.months based upon seniority Supervisor positions also available after 6 months... they get about 24$ or 25$ dollars an hour and they are part time also... 6 or 7 hour shifts typically..
@@gunchief0811 Okay thank you. I applied for package handler on the website at ups jobs. During the application you had to fill out the assessment first so I completed it then received an email saying I passed the assessment. Afterwards I had to complete some forms online like the W4 and so on. Then they made me scheduled a day for my orientation (I chose next week Tuesday) but I never received an email or call saying that I’m hired but on the candidate portal it says “reminder orientation is next week” so I’m confused if I have to go or not.
I love working at FedEx I been working there for almost a Month I just started Dec 20, 2022. I wish they had full-time in my location they only have part-time for right now. They switch me to different position. I get paid $17 an hour.
I live in the Raleigh North Carolina area so being in the state's capital the wages is a little bit more than what you guys are making out there in California and I can't believe that with the cost of of living being so high anyway I start my orientation tonight hoping that I can make it there I'm 61 years Young so I'm not a spring chicken but I'm a former army ranger so I'm pretty much I'm a go getter and I'm in shape to be my age anyway appreciate the video my man keep up the good work brother...
I'm in Charlotte North Carolina and my orientation is Monday lol. I've worked in FedEx Warehouses so this info in regards to management, hours and positions isn't new to me.
@@YEDxYED maybe it varies by state. Around here it’s law to get 1, 10 min paid break if you work 2-6 hours. 2 breaks if you work 6-10 hours (and a 30 lunch but who wants an unpaid break)
I start today as a package handler. I’ve heard how bad it is but my goal is to be a driver. I can put up with the BS for the benefits and an opportunity to make 80K plus a year.
I usually get about 18-19 hours per week. You can get extra hours on Saturday when they need help. They try sometimes to cut you out early but tell them you wanna work because they have to give you your 3 1/2 hours mandatory
@@norrisrogers91 During Xmas and stuff like that at least in my hub you can go help drivers or get extra shifts. Would not surprise me if from September to January you could get 40 hours if you work hard and ask for more.
@@jonhennemann4729 I’m able to get 40 hours year round still “part time”, 47 hours this week….. during peak I’m closer to 60. It all depends on your hubs needs and your seniority
@@macwhite7257 Yes two years ago it was like that but now the wage is up and we are not loosing people and staffed up so less hours all the way around.
@@ry6421 I’ve been here for over a month. it’s not that bad. it’s rough work but you’ll get used to it. also depends on your supervisor, mines are really cool. unless you really need the money or plan on becoming a driver, it’s not worth it.
@@2isceez thank you so much! I canceled the orientation for Monday. I do have another job.. just hearing everyone said its not easy it rough but you’ll get use to it. Saw some ladies posting videos about working there end up having bruises… and wth 10 mins break atleast 15 mins. Thanks for replying. 😊
@@chrisvalentin4826 3-6 months starting off as a package handler then add your name to the drivers list. Take heed they go off seniority list when the select drivers do it could be longer
I start on the 17th! I worked at a factory, seems like similar work, but I want to go back to morning shift because doing night shift for 3 years was starting to kicking my ass mentally 😂 Now its not giving me an exact answer, it says says 19.50/hr after bonuses : Shift pay rate includes a weekly attendance bonus based on a 20 hour work week, must work all scheduled days), does this mean I get the 19.50 if I work all 5 days, even if I don't work 20hours or?
Makes no sense, unloading trailers is the first step of the entire process on the day and it continues for hours. The faster unloading goes, the faster the package car delivery trucks are done getting loaded so they can hit the street for delivery every morning. Unloading is for people who can physically handle unloading trailers fast.
If all the fast people are in the unload then the load is gonna crash going too slow… you definitely need fast loaders to keep up with the unload pace.
