How long did it take him to get to where he’d sit so quickly to the sit whistle? I’m having a hard time getting mine to turn his ears on and respond to the sit whistle immediately
Simply put i practice the stop/sit whistle whether at home, at the park or out hunting with zero tolerance for movement, i put him back in a sit to exactly where he was when I blew the whistle, a smart sit will always get a verbal or physical reward, persist and you will be rewarded😀
@@SpanielshuntingtrialingNZ do you use a long check cord for the further out sits? My pup will often only do the “remote” sit if he is facing me and can see me… it’s like he has turned his ears off when he is searching
@@samuelhaywood1770 I have tried check cords but any smart dog knows when they have one on and not, short distances to begin with, success breeds success and build up slowly the distance, if your pup doesn't listen, go get him and put him in the sit, he will understand that the fun stops if he doesn't listen.
