Finally got my hands on a Garrett Pro Pointer AT. Jammed up to the East Fork of the San Gabriel river and had a safe and fun weekend. No gold, but definitely happy we at least got to go up there :)
There's some good tips on working the water and the gravels while crevicing and sniping for gold. By the way, it's October, the water was easily in the mid to low 60's. Cold.

I use to go up there every week for a period of my life with wetsuit, sniping gear, Keene sluices, and Whites V-Sat, it stopped being fun, the small amount of fine gold every time I went just wasn’t worth it anymore. The narrows was where it was at back then, would run into guys coming down with big vials of nuggets, though there was a kid one time who planned out 2-3gram nugget about 20 feet from where I was working about a half mile up stream from the parking lot. The best luck I’ve had here in Calif. is the old hydraulic pits above Nevada City Calif. with my V-Sat.

I have been going here since the early 90's. Lots of color but no nuggies yet. I will have time off next month. Going to hit the area hard with my detector.

Nice, I hope you get a chance to get up there and find some gold. The good thing is you can pretty much dig anywhere any find some. Good luck if you ever get out there!

I learned some new stuff on your video and I really appreciate you taking the time to be instructive. From "fanning" material away underwater to using a submerged Garrett Pro-Pointer, I thought the video was great, man! Thanks for the update on the East Fork! :)

I'm glad you enjoyed my vid! I love that new pin pointer. Pretty sure I'll find gold with it. I've been telling everyone, get up there if you can. The water is pretty low and you can sluice in some good spots now. Thanks again for watching

Love the scenery love the footage love the music love the vibe you got going on in these videos brother love the personalization with the information of the fires makes me feel like I'm really there. Colorado has been burning for the last couple months and I am unable to go to some of my favorite spots due to all these natural events so thank you for these videos

Thank you so much, I appreciate it. I definitely like making these vids. The fires were out of control this year :( the temps dropped a bit for us here so I think we're in the clear somewhat.. I'm sure it's starting to get pretty cold in your area too, hopefully it helps with those fires by you

Hey Damon, definitely get up there if you can. The water is pretty low and you can easily dig in all the sweet spots!

There was a Garrett Pointer for sale on Craigslist about 1 month ago. I tried to snag it but dude never fuxxing responded. SOB haha. Anyways, I think he only wanted like $80 for it and it was right there in San Bernardino.
