Working of a Supercold Ice Cube Making Machine. This video features the harvest cycle of an Ice Cube Making Machine. A timer operated CPU tilts the water tray upon formation of ice cubes. Hot gas bypass into the evaporator allows the ice cubes to detach from the evaporator and fall into the ice bin below. Notice how droplets of water on the surface of the evaporator gets converted to ice in a snap!!

Thanks for the video. I taught this example to my class in Materials Science yesterday. I used the book by Ashby and Jones, Engineering Materials, vol 2 where a schematic diagram of the process is given in Fig. 4.10 (this being one of the two processes they describe for making bubble free ice). But this video brings one so much closer to the reality than just the schematic diagram. I am going to share it with my students.

Ice vendors in my area don't carry this style of ice cube. The ice is just square chunks. I miss it.

Good luck. There are two ice plants near me. They are almost entirely automated and run around the clock in summer. There's only one technician on duty. The machines run by themselves, make ice, bag it, put it on pallets and store it. The delivery truck drivers are the only people there and they only load up what the robots have waiting. No workers means it is very, very profitable.

Hi Sir. The one on the video is an older model. The latest equivalent is IC280B 3P. It makes about 4.5 Kg of bullet shapes ice cubes in every 18 minutes at an ambient temperature condition of up to 35°C. That's about 330 to 340 kg in 24 hours. Sir, in IC280B-3P, you will get a minimum of 4.5 Kg in every 18 minutes at up to ambient conditions of 35°C. That is like 330 to 340 Kg in a day minimum. If you need 100 Kg in 10 Hrs, You can translate that to 240 Kg in 24 Hrs, in which case, you can take our IC200B, which has an output of 240 to 250 Kg in 24 Hrs @ 35°C ambient conditions.

Also, if you want smaller cubes, you can do so by adjusting the cycle time. Then you will get thinner cubes. Also you can decrease the height of the cube by adjusting the water level sensor position.
