What’s up guys and gals, I’m Kage848. I love to make videos for RU-vid, mostly early access survival games like 7 Days to Die, Empyrion, Raft, Mist Survival, The Forest, and more! You can make about 1k coins a day easily with garlic. Set a farm to just garlic, and 3 water collectors so you wont run out in winter, make travel signs near every herbalist on the map and sell them daily at 10 gold each they each buy around 10 a day. Use the extras to make fine soup ( meat, garlic, mushroom, & water) to give to guards and companions a 20% combat buff. Or mix with bought fish for craft 30٪ and xp 20% buff with fish stew(fish, garlic, & water)

Pro hunting tip (if you haven't figured it out already), especially if you, like me, are having the damndest time hitting crows: Bring the best archer you have (anything 4 or over will do great!) and then, using the order command "E", point at the crow and order your companion to attack target when it pops up as an option. You'll be swimming in feathers in no time.

To rename buildings: Press "b", in the upper right corner is the option to rename click on building you want to rename. also spread your traps around

Honestly, I just buy the hides as well. The deer are super annoying. Often, before I spot them, the eye icon is already up and then they're running before I see them and can aim. I just sell other stuff (pelts, mushrooms, garlic, berry jam, shovels, produce etcetera) to earn money and then buy the hides. Fur sometimes too, because while boar are super easy to hunt, there's not a lot of them (at least I haven't run into a lot). As for the storing of hoes and such in your 'weapon' box; you can just edit (toggle) which weapons/tools can go into the box. Most others, it's whatever, but I've got 1 box specifically only for (good) weapons, so that's the 'open in case of raid' box, basically, haha!

Regarding traps, they will replace broken ones, if you have a trap in stock

Set up the workbench as well to "top-up" the number of traps you are using so there are some in storage to replace the broken ones.

That's correct. Also currently demolishing broken traps gives you back the trap to place again like a new one. I have a dozen traps right by my house I just check for broken ones every few days to save on the wood. Also the hunters get buggy when trying to approach traps from the door side so I place them back side towards their hut.

@@obi-daddykenobi2031 I let the trappers handle them now so they auto-replace the traps anyway. Picking up broken traps to "fix" them will most likely be patched (eventually) :)

as far as your village location its pretty far north away from everything. there's a fork on the road south of you and a giant flat open area south of that with pretty much everything you need nearby. the fish vendors, tin/copper/reeds/meat. might want to check it out when your ready for t2

Instead of equipping each person individually you can just take all of their clothes off, add them to your party and order them to interact with your equipment box and they will equip the best clothing they can. That also works with food, weapons based on their skillset

for hunting you need to build a hunter building (tier2) only available to unlock & build after you built the village hall (and use the research table that comes with the hall) then , you can set hunting targets like deer, rabbits, etc.... otherwise they only handle the traps

there's another strap npc...he's east of that guy near a poi called wolfs lair or wolf den. he's on the other side of some water which you can see in the fog of war on map. not super close but can buy a 2nd strap per day

also the best food setup ive done in that starter zone is a smoked mushroom in the first slot, then smoked fish and fish stew which you can buy at the npcs around the lake near padstow. the npc near the buildings has the best prices. the smoked fish reduces food consumption by 30% so the food lasts longer and the fish stew is +20% XP. you can drag and drop a smoked mushroom ontop of the smoked mushroom youre digesting to replenish it to full, never needing more smoked fish or stew. just dont forget to replace the mushroom

i'd buy that strenght npc. strenght adds base hp and dmg and allows your npcs to equip the good shields and weapons. any npc over 3 str is good. you can also farm the bandit patrols for rep to buy tons of npcs... if you take out a bandit camp then the bandit patrols stop, so do that wisely. also the bandit raids are nice early on because they bring straps and rep right to your base. as far as npc stats i wouldnt worry about farming or crafting lvls. they will max out pretty quick, loot at max lvl for the trade skills but buy strenght npcs or archery npcs bc combat is the make or break thing once you get going in this game (liberating towns and defending against the liberation raids so you can actually buy the good npcs and special trade npcs to unlock stuff)

there is a merchant over at the pond where you first got reeds from that also sells Straps. Also how to you get your cook not to burn the food, mine has a skill of 5, and they always seem to burn my mushrooms and meat on the smoker.

Food tends to burn on campfire and smoker if you or they go to sleep when it's still on the fire or smoker.

The transportation skill stokes the fire the cooking skill cooks it. If the cook loads the food and then gets onto task # 2 out of area the transporters will keep stocking the fire and burn it. Have a set cook that doesn’t leave the area to do any other jobs helps then it’s only burnt when they go to bed. You will end up with hundreds of smoked mushrooms to point I deleted my smoker. You can set it to another outpost but they will still waste wood and stock it for some reason so I just delete and rebuild when I need new mushrooms. I’m just hoping the ai with the tavern is much better I’m just building a new town in south so I can liberate and get an innkeeper.

Yeah, whoever plants gets an xp bump when it's harvested. They also get xp for weeding, and I think for watering.

Only barely half way through the video. But my comment on what you just said. 'Straps are only for research, not crafting'. Didn't you just say last video that simple pickaxes take a strap (both to make AND repair) and how that annoys you? I only say this because at a point ... I'm guessing in a video or two, you will have this rectified. No spoilers here :P

Once you unlock the hunters cabin and have a hunter with hunting and archery skills you will have more antlers and hides then you can count.

hammer out armor for everyone so they can tank damage better. equip everyone with the best available weaponry. anyone with Archery should have a Bow & Quiver of Arrows. everyone should have a melee weapon and those with no archery should have shields to tank on the shield wall.

try for headshots, or aim to the opposite side of the body, on people with shields. the hitboxes are actually pretty good in the game.

Yup. The biggest thing take your time use their entire run in time for one well placed shot it’s better than 5 into a shield.

oh geeze i just remembered!!! the tier 2 wood axe seems to have better durability but costs more, that's it. BUT DO NOT MAKE the tier 2 mining picks THEY WILL BREAK THE COPPER AND TIN ROCKS PERMANENTLY. just use the simple ones. you'll eventually need a tier 2 pick for iron but dont let the npc's get ahold of it or all your mineable rocks are gone. it doesnt even collect better RIP

Thought I would hate it but it’s actually really good. You have to have your army survive the battle so they can carry back the loot. Logs are big and heavy lol! And even most games one or two logs your full.

If it helps, I play your videos at x1.25 speed and it plays well. So if you filmed an extra ¼ of the time on top of your normal time, you could load it at x1.25 speed and get more in your videos. As you said you may not have time to fit everything in this video, I thought this would help you out
