New video featuring a session with two-time Olympian and four-time DP World Tour champ, Adrian Meronk. In this video, Dave and Greg work with Adrian to improve pelvis rotation in the backswing and minimize wrist hinge to improve distance control with his wedges.

That was a great watch. It's amazing to watch the process of the diagnosis and then the drills and explanations to make the changes. Loads of information but so clearly explained.

Interesting to see Adrian cleaning the grooves on his wedges after every shot even for a range session.

I need to get in here for a lesson. I’m a +3. I tend to push off my lead leg the most. When ever I load properly I’m missing something. Because I then begin to hit heel shots and pulls.

I’m 6,3 and have struggled with swaying for years in my swing, something i’ve worked on with my coach too similar to what the guys recommended for adrian! Quick question, my bad tendency now is to turn a little too much and rotate a bit too flat in the shoulders/pelvis and almost get too shallow/in to out… any advice to keep it on plane and maintain a decent attack angle?

Fantastic Video but I think you missed the most important training aid that would have gave Adrian a better visual and that is the the thing that is attached and hanging off his right hip Just watch the movement of this as he moves his hip back incorrectly vs correctly. Ferris wheel vs merry-go round. The other observation is how wide his feet are together. In my teaching to my students or I call my rule of thumb for irons is the closer we get to the green the narrower the stance, turning the lead foot out just a little to help with opening the lead hip without trying to force it and try to restrict how much the trail heel comes off the ground. Knowing the lower body is for power we need more accuracy and softness with shots into the green. I feel the greater the distance the feet are apart the more the lower body will be involved, the driving force of what you teach as loading and exploding. The two drills I use to get the feel and touch into the green is hitting shots with the two feet together drill and placing a wedge underneath the trail heel to feel a restriction of pushing off the trail side but feel a slight rotation of weight to the trail big toe. I greatly appreciate all your instruction and video's on every aspect of this great game. You have been such an inspiration and have taken my knowledge of the game and teaching to a much higher level. Thank you. Looking forward to your next video.

One way I’ve helped others maintain right knee bend is put a headcover on the grip of a club, get low behind them and actually push their knee in gently as they swing. Don’t let them straighten it.

Interestingly….Phil Mickelson, who’s quite handy with a wedge in hand, does a lot of wrist hinging…but for most of us, removing that variable is probably a good idea!

Thank you so much for this video! I've struggled with the sway for as long as i can remember. For me when i'm at my worst i get no power into the ball with my woods and weak low hook flights. Doesn't matter how much force i try to create results in even worse results. For me, the way i've noticed the "feels" of the sway is that it "feels" like my right hip turns but my left hip/knee doesn't follow, or almost face more towards the target, the left leg just straightens and jerks since i have no room to create turn in the downswing. I've noticed that a motion that makes me feel like the left hip follows the motion of the right and gets me into a position where i feel like the left heel feels like it is more rewersed towards the target, and as i plant it i get so much twist/torque as i generate the downswing has the visuals of more turn. After watching this video i had to look into the hinge you focused on with Adrian and it instantly explained the whole picture for me. The motion of picking the club up outside and hinging for me gets balanced with the left hip feeling like it stays or "counter torque" to balance my motion and get me into a position like you said "helps me shallow". As soon as i did a swing where i was more chilled with the hinge it gave me the feel of my left hip swinging around more allowing me the "reversed plant". Thanks to you guys now i have a solid feel for how better turn feels for me vs sway and also a club centric picture of what motion of the hands/club allows the body a better motion. Thank you guys so much! Lets pray for longer drives! haha

Absolutely. I’m a 6’4” golfer with long legs and short torso. Craig Harmon at Oak Hill told me 30 years ago that can be the worst build for golf. Easy to sway and not fully turn. These guys are on to it
