Blades are of plastic, I melted them while focusing the magnifier🔍 to burn the fungus.... 😅 Great tutorial...now I think I can remove or repair the aperture blades...
U saved me the lens infront of aperture blades fell of so I opened and mess with aperture blades and don't know how it fits now I know how to assemble that aperture blades and spring
This is a nice sharp little lens, almost macro ability imho I've got the VR version as well. The problems I'm having is auto focus on the VR1 kit version on D40 D300 . It does work on my D3200 but is still pretty slow. I guess I compared it with the other lenses (18-200 ) which are still a lot more expensive though. I thought maybe the mechanism needed lubricating but looking at this, the problem is nothing so simple I'm sure, perhaps I'm wrong in assuming it's even meant to work on older cameras.
Great video! Thanks a lot Mikeno for doing this! I have a version of a lens 18-55mmm 1:3,5-5,6G VR II with a button on a zoom ring, and the zoom ring is stucked between 18-24 mm, and sadly, cannot be used. Is this lens much different then your version in a construction form?
