Working with Dame Darcy’s Mermaid Tarot 

I have this deck also and I get the feeling that the Queen of Swords and Queen of Cups are self portraits. They look very much like the pictures of Dame Darcy.

I love this deck.. I use it when I am at the beach house and read for friends and family. It's remarkably in tune with the beach and waves ... My favorite cards are the Pages. I highly recommend this deck.

It’s so funny that you mention the back and forth struggle with this deck you went through before you bought it because I’ve gone through this same process ever since I saw this deck!!! The only difference is that I LOVE mermaids, it’s that there’s no deck out there that I’ve seen that captures the essence of “the mermaids” which I particularly look for and this deck, like you said, has a different vibe to it. Ultimately I may buy the deck in the future but I’m not ready yet and watch it go out of print when I do want to buy it too 😂😂😂😂 There’s also this Caribbean vibe to the deck, and I live in Florida with connections to the Caribbean, so the deck does capture an aspect which I do actually look for in decks because soooo many decks tend to over-replicate a Celtic or Norse aspect that hasn’t always resonated with me throughout my life, with the exception of a handful of decks which I’ve already bought 😂😂

Oh and I have to say...I love the brunette mermaid representing in this deck! Growing up it always seemed blond (besides little mermaid) & all the kids I lived by from the beach were blonde & tanned & I just always felt like I couldn’t have the mystical mermaid energy in me! I would connect with dolphins a lot & seals actually. But nowadays it’s so much better...

I really love the court cards in this deck. Often the court cards are uninspired or even boring....but this deck they are so cute. I love how they are dressed in period costumes and I love the close up face images in this deck. Just beautiful!

I just got her Witchy Cat tarot and though I love cats, have never wanted a cutesy cat deck. But I really love Dame Darcy's for similar reasons to yours for loving The Mermaid Tarot. Thanks for your perspectives on working with this one!

Beautiful walkthrough 🥰 🧜‍♀️ This was my first Indie deck 3years ago and it is still my favorite ( I have 3 copies 2 without the matte edging- worried if something happen to it …I had to have a backup or 2 🤦🏼‍♀️ ) Lovely 🧜‍♀️ Love my water decks being a Moon Child ♋️ Pretty sure I was a mermaid in a previous life!!!

I love mine so much if I don’t have a reason to use it I will just shuffle & flip thru it...I live about 45 minutes North of LA & we just found a few Hag stones last time we went to the beach. I was thinking I want to take my deck with me next time & just flip thru it or have a card for the day pulled that I can deep dive into....I hear & feel exactly what u mean about SoCal beaches...I can’t imagine not being close to a beach.

Could it be that it is meant to be grass behind the High Priestess? Merfolk are spirits, dwelling in the water realm... in the traditional RWS the other side of the veil behind the High Priestess is watery and in the world of spirit. Maybe for the Merfolk, the other side of the veil would be the physical world and earthy? I've had the Dame Darcy Mermaid on my wish list for nearly two years and gone back and forth... looks like tomorrow could be the day I finally purchase... kind of feel I need the Spacious Tarot expansion pack and should add another deck to my purchase to get free postage 😆 As ever, thank you for sharing 🙏 ❤️

Hello, I have a question unrelated to the video but I’m hoping someone could answer me: I recently got into tarot and bought a couple of decks online since I live in the Middle East and don’t have access to metaphysical shops. It has come to my attention that my decks are most likely fakes. I feel bad now that I know this, but thankfully found a trustworthy site that ships to where I live. As for my tarot decks, I’ve done some readings and they were accurate... does this affect my readings in any way?
