I place my images on the "image" layer, and this works. Then I anchor the image back up to the previous paragraph, and the image now switches over to the "text" layer as it adopts those properties. How can you anchor and keep the image on the "image" layer? Great tutorials thanks.

Thanks a lot for the comment. The whole point of anchoring is that you link it to wherever you want which is why the properties get copied.

@@CreativityGarage Thank you for your reply, that is what I thought. Good to know, but anchoring is essential to create well-formed ePubs so I will have to live with that.

Is there a way to export single layers to a printable pdf? For instance when you want to present different design ideas within the same layout?

You just select that single layer and hide the rest of the layer(s) and print it using the pdf writer as a virtual output device.

I'm writing a graphic memoir of how I used my health and fitness knowledge to stop my mother with mild dementia from forgetting me, and it worked. I use PS for the background pics and of my mother and me, and I draw other people with Fresco. I’m almost finished with it, and I made the layers in each chapter by the page numbers, one for text in the speech balloons and one for the background images. When I go back thru and do serious editing, I will be adding in pages and rearranging. Is there a way to link the page numbers to the layers somehow for good organization, or what would be your best advice for me? Thanks for this video. I had forgotten that the anchor point colors tell you where the layer is.

You can use the topmost layer for page numbers. Use the placeholder ‘current page number.’ You can place it on a master page and then assign the master page to the document pages you want to display the numbers and it shall work.

Wrong. There's never a sublayer in this video. What the author calls sublayers are objects inside the layer. He then goes even more wrong and calls sublayer to the other two layers under the topmost one. Those are still layers. What makes a sublayer to be considered as such is the fact it resides INSIDE a layer. If you collapse a layer, all sublayers hide because they are inside, not outside and only in second and third places like those used in the video. You can see the author collapses the topmost layer and the other two are still visible because there is no hierarchical relation among them.
