Great video and very helpful, thanks. When learning this app for the first time, it can be quite difficult to see which buttons are being pressed as it all happens so fast. Would suggest a yellow highlighter.
I'm an experienced (eg, "old") musician who is now doing solo gigs using backing tracks. This app is everything a solo artist could possibly want, and a whole lot more. Peter, thank you so much for creating such a powerful yet user-friendly tool for musicians. It truly is amazing.
I , I am an new user is Stage track and I like it, is it possible to import lyrics from OnSong app in Chords Pro format in stage track and modified it to my taste? Thank you Val From Quebec Canada
Stage Traxx can read chordpro files (ending .cho or .chordpro) but it does not understand the whole chordpro syntax. Some things will just be displayed as lyrics.
I am an OnSong user since many years and I would like to use lyrics from OnSong with ST 3 . Is it possible to trigger OnSong from ST3 to start my lyrics on OnSong from an midi command and if is it possible how I do that ? Thank you Val😊
I am not familiar with OnSong. ST3 will send MIDI to all MIDI ports registered in iOS. It is also possible to create a virtual midi output that is visible in other apps if they do not create virtual input ports themselves. So most likely it should be possible but I can't help with the details.
Help! When doing time code editing, the cursor goes to the next verse not the next line. It was doing the correct way before but not now. I might have pressed something accidentally.
Seems like you don't have proper line endings in your lyrics. Maybe you used shift-return instead of return only. Hard to tell from a distance. You could send me the lyrics with this issue so that I could investigate.
Great vid Peter. I’ve not done text lyrics yet as I’m putting in my back catalogue 1st. But I’m stamping midi commands on text format. It’s working brilliantly. Thank you for a wonderful app…we will be road testing it on this Sundays relaxed lunchtime gig.
Peter I have been listening to your tutorial I'm kind of a beginner at this looks like it would be a very good program what would be the best iPad for the money to use with this program any suggestions right now I'm using a loop station running through A PA but I want something that that I can see the lyrics good and also have my tracks downloaded on this from the loop station cuz I write some of my own songs any suggestions would be very helpful thank you so much this is Joe Anderson

You can add ReplayGain Tags to your songs. ST3 will use these tags to normalize the volume during import. For existing songs, use the ReplayGain value to adjust the volume manually. A good app to add ReplayGain to your files is foobar2000.

However you are demonstrating for people who don’t know how to use what you are showing us when you saying that you’re selecting something we’re not seeing what you are selecting because you’re going to fast or there’s no arrow pointing to where you are taking us. So I’m watching you doing these things but not really knowing how you are doing it. Thanks

Ive been using ST3 for a while now and love it. QUESTION THOUGH ... Can you change the size of the text in the EDIT page? I know it can be done easy in the performance mode but can it be done in the editor. THANKS!
Peter, I cannot get my auto scroll to work at all, I've tried everything that I can.. I was able to load a word file into the lyrics, but it just will not scroll.. Does it matter if a word file is used or only Text File/PDF, or Copy & Paste can be used to enable the auto scroll? HELP!!!!!!!!!
Make sure autoscrolling is enabled in the lyrics settings. Then seek somewhere to the middle of the song and increase the scroll speed until you see it scrolling. Adjust the speed to taste.
Would it be possible to add importing also .lrc lyrics files? .lrc file is simply the .txt file, no difference comparing to .txt format. And yet another feature: it would be great having a possibility to import audio and lyrics files simultaneously. So, when you import audio file, and when correponding .txt (or .lrc) file is present in the same directory (same file names .mp3, .txt, .lrc) then the lyrics will automatically applied into the song. I believe this feature would be awesome!
Just rename your lrc files to txt and they will import. But not all commands in that file will be supported. Stage Traxx can only import files that you select in the file browser. It is not allowed to read the contents of the directory where that file is located.
Peter - for the time coding feature - can you simply manually move the playback/progress bar to the points you want to code so that you don't have to listen to the entire song for coding?

@@stagetraxx Vielleicht erkläre ich es schlecht. Ich habe mehrere Akkorde in eckigen Klammern nebeneinander z.B. für ein Intro. Manchmal werden Leerzeichen anerkannt, manchmal der Tab. In einer Textzeile bekomme ich nur dann Probleme, wenn die Akkorde am Zeilenende nebeneinander stehen. Gibt es ein sicheres Zeichen, dass die Zeile nicht unleserlich macht oder hast du nen Tipp, weil ich was überlesen habe? Danke 🙂
@@stereho44 Ich denke ich verstehe schon richtig. Wie geschrieben, packe die Akkorde in einen gemeinsamen Tag und setze so viele Leerzeichen in diesen Tag wie du möchtest.

Hi, I have only just got the app. And am learning it too. What I've done is set up the tutorials on my laptop whilst opening the app on my ipad. Then I'm able to pause or go back easily on the parts I'm not sure of. I'm a total beginner but it works "slowly " for me.
hi, and thank you. Can we have two differents colors at the same time in the lyrics? For example a duet, the girl's lyrics will be pink, the boy, blue (very original lol) and when they sing both yellow. I didn't find how to do it.
Yes, but the highlight color will always be the same. So if you use highlighting you might want to reconsider to use something like bold/underline/italics. That will be visible even when highlighted. See here regarding colors: stagetraxx.com/user-guide/lyrics/#colors
Just tap on the import button on top of the lyrics editor and select the chordpro file you want to import. Not all Chordpro features are supported though.
It would be useful to add a couple features: The possibility of adding markers to the Waveform, e.g. Intro, Verse 1, Chorus, Outro . Looping functions could then be added. The possibility of adding notes to a song outside the lyrics (e.g. use Les Paul with reverb, capo 3, etc.). OnSong has a great implementation of this as yellow stickies.
Loopable regions are indeed planned for the next feature release 3.6 in late summer. As for notes: A lot of users use the artist field to make notes. The advantage is that it will be displayed in each song list without the need to select the song first.
Yes looping regions and/or at least a previous 10 seconds playback. For the notes, using the artist field is a “clumsy” workaround. A dedicated notes field would be much better in my opinion. But great app. Will start using it for band practice and gigs. Thanks,
Hello. I just got this app and I really like it. However your tutorials could be simpler in that when you are demonstrating something you have an arrow or something so that we can follow you. You’re showing what can be done but not how to do it it. If we have never done it before we can’t follow you. Please consider when you’re making these videos you are making it for people that’s never you use it before.
Anyone else find it impossible to import songs from google drive? I've checked the forum and read all the support materials and can't find any info on it. Tried to buy the full version and it still doesn't work. All .txt files that I'm trying to import.
You can only import text files in the lyrics editor of an existing song. So first create a song in Stage Traxx, then open the lyrics editor for that song and import your text file.
@@stagetraxx I suggest u to allow guest to install a "reader" app because in a band often only one is in charge to edit backing track and other member r only intrested in "read". so 30 € for "reading" is too much. i think 9,99 could increase ur business because u r going to lose mang customer. for example we r not going to use this amazing app because the price even if I push to use it and I bought the complete version because I edit BT.👍
