But why if there are more than 2 year than sameperiodlastyear function gives incorrect value? And if there are only 2 year like 2019 and 2020 then it gives correct value.
I am exactly having a problem with connection with Date table and I have marked the table as marked date table but I have question what's the difference between Date key and date table within the same date table.
Thank you so much Mitchell for these awesome quick guides to DAX. I love PbI so much and can’t get enough of your videos and all the other awesome people sharing their knowledge. I get the time thing in Dax which came very easy to me since I work in the hospitality industry. The filter and context transitions- I have hard time grasping them . But will get there. I have one Q for you sir: we have collapsible rows such as moth , date , years or even categories. Why not collapsible columns like we have them in excel ? Just been curious. Happy Friday and thank you .
Hey Micael, thanks for the feedback. If you put your Year / Month / Date into the columns of a matrix you can drill down and drill up. You are right though, I do not see a method for easily collapsing and expanding a column.
I started watching expecting to only learn about SAMEPERIODLASTYEAR & DATEADD. But then, I ended up also learning about a new feature called Calculation Groups. Wow, very clear example. Should have that in your title! Thank you for these excellent quality videos.
Hey Stephen! I am not sure I understand the question, are we talking about showing some kind of percent of total calculation and then doing that in the Tabular Editor rather than just building the expressions in Power BI Desktop?
