French President Emmanuel Macron's decision to call snap parliamentary elections could mean he finds himself in a situation not seen in French politics for more than twenty years. If the far right wins an absolute majority - or if the left or right wings form an alliance to lead - Macron could enter into an arrangement called "cohabitation." This is when France's President and Prime Minister come from different parties. So what would this mean for France? FRANCE 24’s Claire Paccalin explains.

Given the state of tension that has been brought about in western society these past thirty years, should be more respectful of the distinction between adversary and enemy. It’s the difference between marking differences democratically and stirring revolutionary sentiment.
