no, that comment is just dumb. any kind of people also can over push themselves like workaholics and you have to constantly restrain them also , that doesn't mean they are champions of anything except of being excessive. So no, that's not a good way to know you have a champion just a passionate excessive person. The difference here, is that this person happens to have some talent. I had in my class persons that did average work, and had excellent results, and persons that overworked because they had more difficulties. Your assessment is baseless.

@@jessa813 how many athletes overwork themselves and end injured. overworking is not a sign of a champion. Whatever the comparison you want to put on. But hyping Tuohy for whatever reason seems ok. Too many athletes overwork themselves and are not champions. It might be a reason why she is a champion, but that's not how you can see if a person is a champion or not. Jog. Or just start by walking very fast, if jogging leaves you breathless. You should train most of your running (especially at first) at a pace you can comfortably breathe and talk to a running mate.
@fishofgold6553
@fishofgold6553 4 года назад
+Emmah Wittwer I suppose it's partly because your body is still getting used to exercise. It's bound to improve, especially if you pace yourself. If you're new to jogging, then just jog at whatever pace allows you to avoid dying, no matter how slow. Now this piece of advice might utterly confound you: breathe through your nose, even during exercise. It's also better for you than mouth-breathing while at rest and during sleep. All of this, too, however, will take some getting used to as your nasal passages widens to adapt to the change. There's a book out there call 'The Oxygen Advantage' by Simon McKeown. I admit I haven't read it, but I'm sure it's fascinating because I've seen videos of his on RU-vid and I've learned a lot from them. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0gtlAAQzENw.html

Here are some cross country tips: 1: Run Conservatively, meaning like, don't EVER be one of those people who SPRINT in the beginning, there Lactate will build up quickly, (Lactate is pain), kinda jog but a little faster in the beginning, so you can wipe out the people who sprinted in the beginning by the end. 2: Week prior to your race, eat fruits, vegetables, Chicken, Almonds, Lot's of Healthy choices, I also recommend water and Gatorade for electrolytes. (Gatorade is a good liquid to consume on the way to the meet, lets say on the way there) 3: Stick to the same meals the day before your race, since your body is use to the foods and liquids your consuming, your body knows how to conserve the energy. 4: Do muscle building workouts, muscle will help you get faster, though there could be cons to building muscle, but this is optional. 5: Have fun! Don't tell yourself you can't do it, because you can, you need to train your mind to tell you that you CAN do it! Your body is more than capable to do it, your mind is whats not capable, so tell yourself you can do ANYTHING, cause you can!

Well as a junior she got 4th in all of the world in the 5000M with just a 1 second difference from 3rd... which she obviously broke the record for hs girls in all of U.S! Not hype, just straight accomplishments! You’ll definitely be seeing her in the Olympics very soon...

Dude when she was a junior she got number 4 IN THE WORLD. Not 4th for Highschoolers. Not 4th for Under 17s. 4th in the world, including full grown women are proffesional athletes and she was 15/16 at the time! She's get the amount of 'hype' that she deserves.

This makes me miss running. I just can't push myself right now because track and field starts in March for middle school. I love to run but no one is forcing me and that makes me lazy. I'm obviously not going to win big championships but I will try my best in the races I get to be in.

The more stamina your body has the faster pace you can run a mile at, so basicly Katelyn's "sprinting" pace to her is just a fast jog pace or even just her cross country pace since she can contain stamina well.
@icushfu732
@icushfu732 3 года назад
Not quite, maximum sprinting effort will cause lactic acid to build up very quickly no matter the endurance as you have surpassed your lactic threshold. A good distance runner runs just below their lactic threshold

why are the girls and boys on different track teams? when I was in high school the boys and girls track team was trained together. if i remember correctly we had around 60 to 70 total.
@watcherwlc53
@watcherwlc53 4 года назад
well they definitely compete separately. some smaller schools might combine them with the same coach and train together, but even in the situation you describe when you went to meets you must have had a girl's and boy's separate competition event
@u235u235u235
@u235u235u235 4 года назад
@@watcherwlc53 i said TRAINED. of course men and women competed separately. men and women can never compete directly in endurance events for first, second, third place. these are biological facts (I encourage you to research them): -- average man's heart 10% larger for same body weight as female -- average man's lungs 30% larger for same body weight as female -- average man's hemoglobin 10% greater than female. why do you think hematocrit ranges lower for females? men have superior a starting point for endurance than women. it's not just about strength, men generally speaking have greater capacity for endurance overall than women. can women train to get better? yes. but a man training the same will generally get better results.
