The Tiger series was awesome. So I'm happy to see that you guys are covering these two restorations from scratch. As an aside, whoever supplies you with welding rods is probably in the process of ordering a new yacht right about now.

Moving all those heavy parts all the way from Europe down to Aussie-Land must've been an enormous undertaking! Thank you for all the amazing work an attention to detail in restoring these wonders of engineering and martial history!

Hello, you really do a fantastic job, I am looking forward to seeing the other episodes, younger I lived in a well-known place of the Battle of Normandy in Argentan in the Orne (France) and I spent my youth (1980) in the famous "pocket of Falaise" where the German army was surrounded by allied troops. I had the opportunity to visit the Trun dump where many tanks and tank parts had been stored after war a real cave of Alibaba. It happened to me at the time to make excavations in the Dive court of water that the Germans had to cross to escape the encirclement there were all kinds of small materials of the German army but also big ones one day we took out of the water a tripod Lafette for Mg 34 heavy machine gun. Mg 42. I am now 55 years old and I am still as interested in the Second World War and especially the German tanks also when I discovered your chain I confess my surprise to see you restore all these tanks. For me it is a duty to remember to keep all these vehicles. Good luck to the whole team.

Such an interesting first part to this series, although concentrating on bolts, I am just fascinated by all the care and attention that Daryl and company are putting into all the details. As others have said, I could watch far longer episodes on your restoration projects. Best wishes to you all, I look forward to next week's episode. 👌

@@sqr2024 i know these Maybach engines they used in most of their tanks like the Tiger, Panther and Jagdpanther ect are extremly rare and even more rare finding one that can be turned into running condition. And i can imagine finding all the internal parts like gearbox, radio units, seats ect are even harder to find and would be extremly pricey. Making them would cost insane amount of money and time. That why most musea just stick to static display tanks. There are exception like the late co founder from microsoft he had a collection of tanks and he turned a Panther that was blown up and landed in a river in Poland into a mint running condition with all the internal parts to a prime example to near perfection but he had to time and money to make that happen. Sadly he passed away and most of his collection including the Panther ended up in different musea in the U.S.

ATD defines a good craftsman from a bad one. I was in a different line of work, but watching a tradeperson open up when you show some interest in the details of their work brings back memories. Loved the sections on the smaller processes, it highlights the ATD of the whole project & the commitment to the history, the age, the preservation of Every piece.

I'd be interested, like a lot of people apparently to know the background of these vehicles. How intact was it when you started? Where did it come from? Where do you get the parts? What's its history? The story behind something is just as important as its preservation.

But the museum should sell of the unusable pieces and parts from the varies tanks and etc. I'd be interested in original scrap pieces .. Great fundraiser!! Ie.. small chunk of original tiger tank.. with certification of authenticity from your museum .. say $25-50 plus shipping.. It's common in the aircraft world ... Thank you again!!
