Kuki in Myanmar and India may have same ethinicity but a Myanmar kuki cannot be a citizenship of India. And the fact of the matter is that kuki from Indian side keep on bringing Myanmarist kuki in the name of ethinicity and getting ST as soon as they reached Manipur under the hood of kuki. And slowly they are capturing all the high post through ST quota.

@Nomadic Indian Assamese, Meitei and Tai Ahom are the only 3 languages of northeast which have their own scripts. And Assamese does not use bengali script. Assamese or Kamrupi script originates in Kamrup region of Assam. Inscriptions of Assamese ৰ (ro) and ৱ (wabbo/wo) have also been found in Nepal and West Bengal. Even the Bengal Gazzete of 18th century uses assamese Ro and Wabbo/Wo. Both Assamese and Bengali uses Kamrupi script so there is no way Assamese uses the so called bengali script. Even the Assamese language itself is older than bengali by 600 years and is the direct descendent of Kamrupi language. I appreciate your effort to spread knowledge and awareness of our northeastern culture but please avoid making such heavy claims as "assamese uses bengali script" as such. As there is no historical proor for that. Rather there are proofs supporting Assamese language instead. These misconceptions are due to bengali being more popular due to obvious reasons. In future please avoid such statements. Appreciate your effort 👍🏻

Assamese is not same as Bengali, or the other way by @Deepanshu Bhai. Bengali people came just now recently in 1947 and 1970, while Assam has been existing with different history since ages, bengalis are now trying to blend in, also Assamese Language is Much Much OLDER.

I should have ignored this, but I will answer anyway. Bengali evolved from Kamrupi Assamese (Old Assamese variant during Ashokan Times). We have Paleaographic findings of Old Assamese Scripts that dates back to 5th Century AD. Kamrupi Prakrit is one of the oldest Indo-Aryan languages of South Asia. And what was “Bengali” back then ? Did it even exist ? It would make more sense if you say Bengali language is a deluted version of Kamrupi. Bengali is the youngest among the eastern Magadhi based languages, i.e - even younger younger than Maithali language. Bengali language came 600-700 Years later. Some Archeologists claim that it originated around 10th Century AD. But we do not find any Scripts until the end of 11th Century. Kamarupa kingdom included large parts of what is now considered as Bengal, so it is natural that many people of those regions adopted the language, especially the so called East Bengali. This is why many East Bengali languages are known as Bengali-Assamese languages, & this includes Chittagonian, Sylheti etc.
