I was a crane operator on N California for 40 years and removed hundreds of trees and never had a crew as skilled as you guys! You don't know how many times I've had limbs flip over or break because of improper rigging. I used to get a sick feeling in my stomach when I was dispatched to a tree job because of the crews I had to work with alot of them didn't speak English. Well done gentlemen if I worked with a crew like yours I'd have a lot less Grey hair!
Its easy to get distracted by the quality workmanship or the videography, but as a business owner, I applaud you for how well oiled your operation functions. The back end stuff is what gets overlooked on RU-vid, but its the toughest part of the business. Bookkeeping, scheduling subcontractors, moving trucks around, dumping, keeping your guys in line, making sure everything has fuel, doing the estimates, back and forth with the customers, on and on... just the logistics of it all. You guys are extremely efficient, everyone knows their role, and you get jobs knocked out quick and on to the next. Safety, productivity, and happy employees / customers is all you can ask for man. God bless! Keep dominating 2023.
Yes, I don’t think customers realize how much we do before and after being on their site. Im up at 4am often fueling trucks, setting up, equipment maintenance, etc
Reon, you never stop impressing me with your desire to have fun and be the consummate professional on the job with your crew. You exhibit the work ethic that built this country. All the best to you in the future with the growth of your company and channel.
You’re badass. Caught me off guard with the paramotor! I just started a tree business and have been in the kitesurfing industry for 5 years. Live it up Reon!
I have wanted to fly since I was a small child. Now you and your flying are just what I always wanted. Good for you. Looked like so much fun. Great jobs on removing those trees. I hope that record lasts a long time.
New Subscriber. This was amazing! Love people who not only do an amazing job, but clean everything up afterword too! Am sharing this on a couple my pages!
Thanks for sharing Reon! Great job as always thanks for sharing tips and tricks that have taken yrs to learn I greatly appreciate them! Stay safe and keep ripping!
Another great job on huge tree. You did a great job talking about how slings are Attached and how you broke the tree down intological parts to sling it properly with a separate climber. It isn't always about the cutting.
Great thing to see pro`s at work. Calling out safety as you go. I've been in construction long time, you are superman. Thanks for sharing, mostly so the guys who don't know better hopefully learn. At least to the point of humility. If u know what I mean. Take care GB
Brand new to the channel. Just liked and subscribed 👍 Never seen this type of work done before….impressive 🙂 You guys sling things so well it makes moving thousands of pounds around like your moving feathers. Absolutely incredible👌 Really nice work guys. I’d be proud if you did tree work for me. I’d recommend you to everyone! Your videos speak volumes…..
One of very few guys I watch that “gets it” and doesn’t annoy me. I like legitimate companies and good stewards of the Tree Industry. This Gentleman is obviously one of them. Family man, good to his help, excellent to his customers… a great role model to newcomers to the Tree business.
Many guys have no idea how hard ash can be to cut, dead standing is pretty knarly. Great job by the crane op, having been on the controls of KB for yrs and some old school cranes, I get how sketchy tree rigging can be. Hope you enjoy your coffee, you deserve it 🤩 lol.
Reon, from CA....that was smart, cool, coordinated, well communicated and talented work. Way to go. Very fun to watch you orchestrate that serious and dangerous work. Well done, again!
Great job, very efficient. You mentioned purchasing your own stick crane. Massive investment that could limit yourself as per what you said on that second job (willow tree). A bigger crane may be needed and that being said. How big of a crane do you buy given that every job is diferent. Not to mention the maintenance, insurance and another operator on the payroll that you have to keep busy. I'm retired now (sort of) and used to operate a business called You Rent I Run. I would consult a client for a fee on the job, it was usually a GC, and let them know what I needed and how long it would take. I also suggested rental agencies and left him to gather the locates. Most jobs were in the back but if out front I would pick up the locates as by law. My only overhead was my 1/2 ton pickup. So one day I might have been demolishing a house and the next digging footings, then backfilling but the GC would usually take care of that. Anyway not trying to tell you what to do, just offering an old mans wisdom by experience. Maintenance costs on one of those big boy cranes wouldn't be cheap, not to mention cutting into your flying time.
First video of yours I've seen. Every time I brag on myself, or someone else brags on me, before the job is done, something goes wrong. I never would have guessed those limbs weighed that much. Despite framing some of the biggest custom homes in the Atlanta area spanning many years I never got used to the heights. Watching you dangling from the crane and in the top if that tree my a$$hole was puckerd so tight you couldn't have gotten a needle up it with a jackhammer. You have one hell of a pair my friend! Stay safe.
I always enjoy watching the professionals taking care of business!! They are worth every dollar it takes to safely get rid of menacing and dangerous trees!! Well done gentlemen!! 👍🏼🙏
Such a shame it was starting to decline, it's very rare to see ash trees that big. We have a couple in my area in PA but with injections they're on life support
Beautiful view from 180ft up. You'd never get tired of that. Really impressed that you build your guys up while they work. You're a good boss, great work, thanks.
Great job. Very interesting. I used to climb for a small landscaper here in MA. But I'm going to be 76 on Easter so I don't do it anymore. Things have changed a lot also.
As an experienced rigger…once you get your slings set and you’re confident the hook is hanging over center tell the operator “cable up, you’re gonna start to take some tension, hold your radius”. This lets him know not to wait for your command to boom up to account for deflection and allows him to do it on his own
Craning tree business is a learning experience every day to say the least. Nice work! Great guessing on your weights. I used to do it operating a 25 ton Manitex, and 50 ton Grove. We just had to get a lot closer n' not bite'm off so big. Also would do a lot of rooftop AC compressors and trusses. Be safe, God Bless.
Great video. August Hunicke mention you. I liked and subscribed. I watch Buckin and Logger Wade. And more. If I was younger I would have loved to do what you guys do. I cut a lot trees and wood for family, friends and myself. My father in law calls the logger. I really like watching the pros. I learn a lot. Thanks for what you do.
"There isn't one blade of grass out of place here." .... *walks onto the grass* 🤣 I laughed so hard. Keep up the good work, Reon. Videos more often would be more cooler 😏
Hi Reon. really enjoyed your work . Cought you last when Guilty of treason was on your video. Liked having second man in tree cutting. Good move on the Willow cleanup leaf blower worked perfect. Hope to see you soon.
I have only done crane work 2 times in my tree years . They are the only way to go in situations like this . I like your crane operator . The guy who was operating when I was climbing smacked me up so I went down and smacked him up and told him it's his turn to climb and I'll operate the crane . I like your crew better than the group I was helping out . God bless and heads ,up no headache's!
New sub here. Learned of your channel after your collaboration with Jake Rogers. I live across the "Big Pond" from your service. But if you were stationed here in lower MI, I'd use your company for tree removals on my place. Nice looking equipment and crew.
Why would you ever want to stop flying on a morning like that to do another fun thing like tree work? That's a hard thing to do. GREAT job by the crew and yourself!
Great crane. Well rigged. Saw,,, my old Jonsered could/ can rip circles around your WCS Husky and Jonsered,, essentially the same thing today. Husky bought Jonsered because of the excellent design and engineering dept. Jonsered is what every pulp wood sawyer used in Michigan for decades. No qualifications required,, You are good.
Awesome video man! Honestly very entertaining & interesting! Great idea to start a YT channel documenting your work, I'm willing to bet that this channel will blow up, almost surprised it hasn't because it's got me subscribing!
Well I hit the like button before the video started and I'm already subscribed so I guess I'll just have ta fly up an take y'all out for dinner again 😀 Realty great video Reon and Awesome job !!!! That was a beast of an Ash and under 2 hrs... just Wow !!!
Mr. Rounds, Started to watch this video and when you said flight I thought you were headed to a pilot school or something. you are my kind a loco on the glider man, wish I could do that.. ;-) Fun video,, good luck to you... Jose R Garcia
Well I guess you only other thing that related surprises me was that all the wood went into a shredder. And I saw the base of that trunk and I'm thinking boy what beautiful boards and tabletops etc.. But very interesting to watch it all.
@Reon loved the margins of safety on the weights. Every Willow near bldgs were always beautiful until they weren't. 🤣 Nice 'Pick Up' job on the way home 🏡. Pun intended. Stay Safe and Happy New Year to you and the family 👪. 🤘😎✌️
I'm listening and I'm glad he mentioned where he's grabbing the pieces, because once I watched a poorly trained city crew grab a very large Cottonwood section, way too low and it almost whacked some people watching from across the street. It was obviously tied too low and all because the city tree guys were free, because it was close to the street and a school bus stop. It would have been pretty expensive to pay someone to do it safely, hahaha.
Would it have made any sense to leave the tree in place after removing about half of its height? I understand the customer gets what they want, but it seemed healthy as you got lower.
