I saw someone comment and relate him to Steve Irwin.. that last bit “they have the largest venom glands, enough to kill a bull elephant.. how wild is that “😂 that definitely gave me Steve Irwin vibes RIP Steve 😔
@@GaryHagerdon’t worry, I’m pretty sure he’s from Florida. And obviously Floridians would never allow an invasive reptile like this get loose into the wild…
@user-be1bj9zl1t luckily, they are very difficult to procure. There are a ton of licenses and procedures in order to even consider getting them. Venomous snakes are generally kept for either antivenom production or medical research. There are a ton of meds that are made from snake venoms
@@raymondjones1601Intimidation display. No vipers are nice. This is the nicest they get. If they were actually scared, they would be running away and attempting to bite him
@@nunyadambusiness6902 That's very cool. The base for quick reaction times in humans start at around .13 seconds. So you might start moving, but GL getting out of range!
Johan Marais of the African Snakebite Institute has a saying: friends don't let friends free handle Mambas! Or any other dangerously venomous snake in my opinion!!
I saw a snake rescuer who handled a Gaboon viper. The guy had so many protective pads that he looked like an ice hockey goalkeeper. He said anything less would be stupid.
Have you seen the gabino!?!... Im not sure if chandler has one, but his friend does, so Im sure you'll find it on here.. If you think this one is beautiful, you'll love the gabino... Let me know what you think!!!
Easily the most beautiful snake... Was lucky to have them on our farm growing up. They are very relaxed snakes, but Mr Chandler is playing with fire being so casual with them.
iirc, Gaboons in the wild are pretty chill. Sometimes you can accidentally walk over them and they won't care. They do care when you purposefully go after them though.@@prissylovejoy702
@@prissylovejoy702 because we valued our wildlife as key components of the ecosystem we lived within. Snakes are essential predators. Gaboons never turned up at the house. We would have black and greens mambas, along with Mozambique Spitting Cobras and Forest Cobras often
It’s because they don’t slither using their muscles like all other snakes but rather "walk" using their ribs. They are so fascinating in a multitude of ways. Aside from the blue insularis, Gabbys are my favorite venomous snake.
That guy has a death wish. They are also one of the fastest strikers there is, faster than rattlers. He is absolutely being careless with those things.
Yes he does. What’s scary is people will see him doing this and think it’s ok or safe. The fact he hasn’t been bitten more or even dead at this point is down to his pet snakes trusting him. There are several videos on here where the snake could’ve bitten him if it wanted to especially his king cobra.
@@BillBiggs1 How anyone can be so shallow is beyond me. There's beauty in every creature if you view it with appreciation. There's a very good chance you would be even more miserable with yourself and all things if you weren't lucky enough to have snakes around to control the planet's rodent population.
@@spanishpeaches2930 Billion dollars don't do you much good dead, but yeah, if I had a pro like him there to give me advice on how to do it, I'd take the chance.
The viper literally “Bro, what are we doing here, shhhhhhhh… around on the table?” “Bro, we are being actors for this human, be cool and don’t bit anyone or we’ll be extinguished“ 😂😂😂
The colors look painted on. You wouldn't have to be educated in venomous snakes to know you don't want no part of it. They just look deadly. Beautiful but deadly 😊
He keeps them well fed and he’s conditioned them to realize they don’t need to fear him. These ones are most definitely on alert while he’s handling them, which is to be expected, but gabbys tend to be pretty chill in general and don’t like to strike unless they feel they absolutely have to. If he were doing this with boomslangs I’d think he is certifiable because those are aggressive, twitchy little bastards that have a kill list that looks like this: Kill List -YES
When people keep pushing the envelope, it eventually falls off the other side of the table! I said it about Steve Erwin a year before his envelope fell off the other side of the table. Stop pushing the envelope.
@@Fredmullegun really? What is that supposed to mean? Because someone is a professional, they are above making a mistake or having an off day? What does being a professional have to do with the price of tea in China? Nothing! It has nothing to do with nothing……It means nothing when you take chances. As a matter of fact, a professional, would be smarter than to take that kind of chance…..
My favourite is, Black Mamba, Gaboon viper and king cobra. I also love the cross breed of a diamond back and Eastern rattle snakes. I'm also shit scared of all of them.
@@TheBiggRiggzwell that’s how snakes hiss ! Just happens that the hissing of these guys is so deep that it sounds more like loud breathing. Just another terrifyingly cool thing about them 🐍
They are so relaxed when you work with them its like they can sense your energie that tell them you not going to eat or hurt them i think they know you are respecting them 😊
@@ObliviouslyGifted not really. He died from an exceptionally rare type of animal fatality from an animal that just as rarely even attacks people. It’s like a crow dive bombing your jugular after you have it some popcorn. In any case, people always guessed Steve-O would die from a croc or snake bite, but no he died from a peaceful, typically-innocuous creature that nobody would have guessed. By the Steve-O standard these fellows are gonna be just fine with the venomous snakes and should instead worry about some chinchillas.

This man literally brought one close to the camera, while taking his eyes off of the other two on the table. They have a very high-speed strike. I know he's experienced, but that is not smart at all. The other two were definitely in striking range too!!!! His eyes are only focused on the one in his hands.
That was a wild caught cobra any snake in the wild is going to be much more defensive then a captive bred animal but still are unpredictable regardless but yes Chandler is very careless
Yes, not only are the markings stunning, it provides very effective camouflage in their natural habitat. It’s almost impossible to spot them on the jungle floor covered in similar patterned leaves under the mottled sunlight. In fact, once, I was in Oakland zoo and they had this specimen in an aquarium and they had set up the aquarium exactly like their habitat with the broad, patterned leaves. I could not spot the snake from 3 feet knowing it was there. It took me 30 seconds of intense searching from 3 feet away with my face against the glass to finally spot it!
The size of Chandler’s balls to free-handle animals as dangerous as the Gaboon Viper. They have an agonising bite to match the size of their fangs, with one of the fastest strikes in the snake kingdom, plus some of the most beautiful colours and designs in their markings. Kevin’s the most impressively sized and striking looking King Cobra (or snake even) I have ever seen, but would never have the stones to handle him, no matter how much training I’d received or how long he’d been under my care. Edit : Fantastic specimens and one seriously brave individual.
I have no idea how they’re that chill. Granted I’ve never seen a Gaboon that wasn’t. But I’ve also never had any desire to be on the other side of the glass. Necrotic neurotoxic venom aside, 2in fangs sound like they’d be excruciatingly painful to be bitten by. Like being stabbed with a pair of trauma needles.
The pattern on these are outstanding, but the moment one of those starts hissing, I'm advancing backwards! I've always loved how thick these guys are, compared to other snakes! They're less like noodles, and more like slithering (hissing) cables! It's no wonder they have such massive fangs, with the venom sacks to match!
Him: "These snakes have the LARGEST venom glands, and they can pump enough to kill an elephant." Also him: *Just grabs them like it's an ordinary garter snake*
