I had actual gelato when I went to Italy, the best ice cream I've ever had. It's tastes more fruit-like/natural too if you get a fruit flavor, at least to me
Had gelato from a local place here in the states and it was way better than any ice cream I had ever had. I can only imagine how it would taste in Italy!
Let me tell you that is heaven made out of cream, we been making gelato for decates, The "gelateria" (place where they only make gelato in Italy) where I live been there since the 70s-80s, the owner's death but his grandkids are now in charge and they dilecided to didn't change anything so everything is amazing since the 80s😍... (I also live in a small town so I'm basically a regular and well known by the employees😊❤️)
I have been to italy countless times, never got sick of the gelato, and the best ive had to this day was in sicily and lucca... I mean i never got sick of the overall food in italy, from arancine, to pizza, pasta, a lot of amazing cured meats, cheeses, tiramisus, seafood, cannoli... I reccomend to anyone, if u dont know what country to visit, visit italy. The people are welcoming, you will eat better than ever, you will see old lively cities, good transport,... Amo l'italia dal Montenegro 🇲🇪❤️🇮🇹
Yep, the best thing you can do to find the authentic ones, is to ask locals. They'll surely help you out because most of us know our areas very well and we'll recommend you our absolute favorite gelateria. The sketchy gelato shops are usually as the person above me said, turist traps amd most of them sell commercialized gelato, or sell many types of sweets, therefore they're probably not specialized in gelato. At least in my city, pasticcerie sell amazing gelato.
@@CityCityJuve just pizza and pasta is the remark that turns Italians crazy 😂. Besides the fact that there are hundreds of different pasta shapes and thousands of different sauces, there is so much more. To be precise Italian cuisine doesn’t exist, every province has it’s own.
in the province of Verbano Cusio Ossola in italy, Gelato is cheap and we use products made from the zone to make it, also in Switzerland, Gelato is so damn fresh.
The best gelato flavor is fior di latte. That straight gelato base flavor is so heavenly, just tastes like sweet milk. That with some fruit topping is the best dessert on earth
I was born in italy and gelato is my fav type of ice cream everytime i go back to visit milan i always eat it especially nocciola flavor which is basically hazelnut or Nutella ❤
Even some Americans don’t know it… i had recently a very harsh discussion under one of the icecream RU-vid videos. Because the one with eggs won the comparison and the comment section shouted that that isn’t ice cream, because it is custard. I‘m from Germany where good ice cream is always with eggs….
Here in Brazil we have a lot of these ice creams also called as "gelato" as you've said, due the high Italian immigration here, I'm not complaining, on the contrary, I'm grateful!
There’s just a few gelateries in Italy that still makes gelato with fruits and natural ingredients. Italy changed the law so every gelaterie could sell gelatos made from “industrial powders” because it’s better for the tourism and every gelateries owners was claiming to the government change the laws because they wanted to use the words “Gelato” and “Natural” in their facades and marketing. There are 2 or 3 gelateries that still produce real gelato as their ancestors. You better search before posting.
I’ve tried gelato and Mexican traditional ice cream with is more rustic and I will always prefer ice cream but gelato is delicious and fancy, definitely the best in the world, also Turkish ice cream.
I think this point got lost in translation. But! The amount of aeration is also a reason why Gelato’s tastes are far more pronounced Think like a soufflé. A ton of air is added into the mix. Which drastically affects the taste as well as texture
As an italian I am quite impressed by your pronunciation, great job! Only thing in italian ch makes a k sound so it would be pronounced pistakkio not pistascio
Gelato is even better when you're far away from those tourism places, you can also get a granita which is like gelato but more refreshing and less creamy/milky
