The fucking worst one, in all honesty. I spent 55 minutes try to get past the part where you have to run up the hill with the bunker. You're literally crawling on the ground tossing all of the grenades back, hoping you don't get tripled up on with those.
World at war is undoubtedly my favourite call of duty game. Maybe I was just the right age, but it seemed to capture the horrors of the Second World War better than any other game I’ve played. I also cannot believe you got the platinum , absolutely incredible stuff mate!
Oh trust it is the best CoD. They'll never be able to recapture the feel and atmosphere this game had. Even the multiplayer was just better. Cod 6 and up were all dog in comparison
This Platinum is probably still the one I’m most happy about. A nightmare is a good way of describing it. Some of those grenade spam missions were so sweaty. You need a very good patience to beat this one.
That is how mortar shells work. There was an American soldier in Italy in WW2 who was low on grenades and resorted to throwing armed mortar shells and received the medal of honor for his actions.
I love the way your videos aren’t over-edited. You seem naturally conversational and able to interact with the audience without having to throw in a million effects every second. Love ur channel:-))
15 years after platinum this game I can still feel the frustration 'World of Grenades'. One of my most proud platinums but unfortunately it also costed me a playstation controller... Thanks for my making this video. It feels like a documentary on an world event we all experienced
I still have the veteran campaign burned into my brain from half my lifetime ago. Probably the most satisfying platinum in all of gaming. Awesome work as always, thanks for making me relive my trauma 😆
That Burn em Out mission was the HARDEST level I've ever played on cod. I'd only died about 10-20 times up to that point. Must have died 100 times in those trenches
I hear you. WaW was also the Cod which started the zombie mode craze which I played even more than mp or campaign. About the video title: As a Xboner these Sony terms feels just weird or wrong. They are achievements. not "trophies".
Dude I am so happy you are ALMOST getting as much recognition that you deserve. I've loved your videos from when they would get 100 views. Every time that I would see your videos I would watch it and about halfway through I would realize this wasn't one of the people I watch that have over half a million views. Your content is fantastic and I am glad you stuck with it. We met on Tarkov and you wrangled me into a discord. I can't believe you have gained well over 100K subscribers. Keep trucking man. Much love.
I don't know whats worse. World at War Veteran Campaign or Black Ops 3 Realistic Campaign. Both were the hardest things I have ever done in gaming. World at War and Black Ops 3 are my proudest Platinum trophies. Can't wait to see you try Platinum Black Ops 3. Its gona be a pain.
Despite how ridiculous some of the moments are in Veteran, it does give you a sense of how deadly this war was (or how deadly war in general can be). One wrong move in real life, and you're toast a lot of the time, especially when you're fighting an equally skilled enemy in an extremely hostile urban environment. Makes it understandable why millions died sometimes just trying to take a single city, or why taking a single apartment building could take days.
Damn dude good shit! I remember attempting this on my Xbox and after seeing the grenade onslaught I instantly quit. Don’t think I’ll ever ever do this one, but it’s awesome to see you persevere and accomplish this! You’re becoming my fave trophy hunter on this site keep it up bro.
Its the only god damned COD too that has a probelm with the grenade spam trash in veteran. I don't know why they thought they needed to have that. Same thing kinda applies to the never ending enemy spawn, it almost comes off like its broken.
Awesome video, Joelemz! The WAW campaign was one of my favourites, but its notoriety is very clearly stemming from its absurd difficulty. Beating this game on veteran is no easy feet, good job! By the way, if this was an attempt to get all achievements on XBox it would have been an even more spectacular mess, as you'd had to get 1st and 10th prestige to get achievements lmfao. I'd figure that since WAW is so dead nowadays, the only way to get it is by first getting a modder to boost you to lvl 65, prestiging once and then asking a modder to boost you to nineth prestige.
I loved this game when it came out. Was the first game I experienced where headshots on enemies seemed ultra real. Being an 80’s baby, the drastic visual enhancements with every new system was so exciting. Remember seeing someone play the PS2 for the first time, an NFL game. The fact that the players eyes moved blew my mind. How far we’ve come…
Having to smoke the tanks before destroying them is honestly peak game design. And the sniper duel where the npc peeks, holds a position where he thinks you are and then dips, kust like you have to do?? These guys were kinda cooking with some of these encounters
Hey @Joelemz !! Your videos are awesome! Thank you for uploading, keep it up. Idk if you care but my dad has passed away recently and binge watching your videos has been helping me cope. Best of luck to you!
I think the most challenging thing about WaW is paying $25 for the dlc on a 15 year old game. I know Activision is greedy but like god damn. Just make it free to preserve it, jeez these online shops are going to shut down this year and it'll be impossible to play OG Der Rise
Love the content! Cant wait for more! Don’t know if it’s deliberate or not but love the little soundbites at the end of each video to tease what the next game is, keep it up!
I beat the whole campaign on the wii version. I bought this version because it was cheaper and thought it would have the zombies mode (which it didn't). I assumed that I might unlock the zombies mode if I beat the game on veteran. Imagine your cross hair spazzing out during the sniper mission and getting one shot. Great times. I did beat it, but with no reward
I decided to beat the wii version on veteran difficulty and it must’ve taken me months. I truly felt like the best player in the world (on the wii version) after going through that hell.
When you get to MW3 I think you will experience even more rage. There are 2 spec ops missions (which you have to do coop) that are simply insane with arbitrary difficulty throughout. Looking forward to seeing them at a later date as you've earned my sub
Ke hiki aku ʻoe i MW3 manaʻo wau e ʻike hou ʻoe i ka huhū. Aia he 2 spec ops missions (pono ʻoe e hana coop) i pupule wale me ka paʻakikī paʻakikī a puni. Ke kali nei i ka ʻike ʻana iā lākou i kekahi lā ma hope mai ua loaʻa iā ʻoe kaʻu sub
Hey Joelemz, I just wanted to say, watching your videos pushed me to 100% games. Currently working on Saints Row 3 Remastered on ps4 and GTA 4 on Steam. Already got the Liberty City Minute with 8 hours to spare, I really only used taxis to travel.
15:40 this part no bs took me over a year. Well I played and had to quit. Crazy enough a year later I tried again and beat it first try. There is a truck to getting to those check points on this one tho. It was the hardest mission in cod I’ve ever played
I am close to 200 "platinums" between Playstation and Steam, and the World at War campaign easily makes it one of my five hardest for sure. This was painful nostalgia but a fun watch!
I have platinumed this literally like a decade ago.. and i still have some funny memories with it, it was not easy but i think MW2 special ops Juggernauts takes the crown
This was my first ever made Platin trophy, 15 YEARS AGO… 😢😂 Thank you for uploading this, 20 min straight smiling cause of the flashback or let’s say, revisiting my trauma 🤣
For new comers, in the airfield part you can go back to the bazooka part and fill up it takes 3 rockets for these tanks so you’ll have to make several trips
Heart of the Reich actually gave me ptsd. Fuck that mission. I remember having a checkpoint where I was constantly re spawning in front of 2 grenades. I needed precision movement to get clear and not get shot. It was so frustrating but getting that plat was satisfying.
This is the first video in times where I actually watched through the ad. That is because the content and dedication of this fella is absolutely insane. I know you’ll make it for sure. On to 1M subs.
Honestly I get so excited now whenever I see you upload. As a trophy hunter of 13 years myself, I love seeing people share their platinum stories. It was so fun to watch the parts you struggled with in this game because I struggled in the EXACT same spots, lol
I got stuck on "Relentless" for 2 weeks back when WaW was the latest Call of Duty. It scarred me so much that to this day, I check trophy lists first before attempting platinums because I could never go through another experience like WaW on veteran again 😂
When I tried playing WAW on veteran, I made it all the way to the mission where you storm the reichstag. Those 4 anti air guns are still the bane of my existence, around 12 hours I've spent on that level, or around a third of my total time in game Edit: Heart of the Reich
I came back to the game, after leting it dust down for 5 years. Burn them out was where I left off and I used maybe 3 hour's just on the last bunker part. The second to last mission also took hours, but there is a easy cheese at the stairs part. Just snipe them from afar, then wait until Reznov and the rest have reached the top. The pillar will fall right after you snipe a few other guys.
I remember how hard and frustrating it was to complete the game on Veteran on PC. I've spent three days gaming to reach the final mission, spent hours trying to advance to the Reichstag, remember every fucking step on that staircase and finally when I was inside, I was just done. I couldn't do it anymore, so I dropped the game minutes from the completion. Do I regret it? Yes, I regret playing that game on Veteran at all!
I'm thankful to have gotten most of the trophies back then for this game. I realized I only needed the veteran and shoot all towers trophies when I went back to the game recently. This play is easier when you play the story coop with a friend!
I'd studied War. I'd practiced War. I'd fantasized about War. But Heart of the Reich on Veteran made me fear War with a level of sympathy I didn't know was possible. Every time I died, I felt sick. I felt like that could've been me and would've been me had I been there.
I remember getting through Heart of the Reich after a billion tries, but I could never beat Downfall. I just couldn't make it past the very first doorway into the large room because there was literally no pause in the grenades exploding on the doorway. (+ possibly panzerschreks, but my memory is hazy on that).
As a young teen the veteran campaign took me roughly 3 months to complete Fast forward 15 years and I’m on the last mission. It only took me 5 days this time around.
Pro tip for when you’re low on ammo, you can kill as many unnamed NPC’s as you want and not be penalized, that free PPSH ammo from killing my homies is what got me through the Soviet sections of veteran, they died for a mediocre cause (I don’t get a platinum trophy since I’m on Xbox)
idk if this is well known and i do know that its not very helpful now seeing as you got already got the trophy yk but ig ill drop this here as a fun fact. the friendly squad a.i in the older CoD games (disclaimer for clarity: im gonna say this applies to CoD4-Bo2 specifically since those are the games i have the most time but it could apply to newer or older games as well) is actually pretty helpful if you know how to use them properly. i always found that staying near squadmates helped me live longer, they will always go from cover to cover to theres little risk of getting caught in the open, it obviously gives the enemy a.i more things to shoot at instead of you, and theres always the offchance they save you by throwing a grenade. to continue glazing them, theyre very effective at holding the line. when you gain ground, youre unlikely to lose it. your squad will struggle to hit enemies in cover or at a distance but they'll nail anyone out in the open and give you breathing room. the best way to exploit them though is by pushing up yourself. its alot easier said than done but try not to get pinned down, always try to inch forward to the next piece of cover because your squad will advance behind you and when they're on the offensive they become extremely deadly. they'll take out all the enemies on your flanks and, again make sure that every inch of ground you take isnt lost. as long as you keep pushing forward your squad can do alot of the work for you. anyways unnecessary rant over I hope this was interesting
The thing about 'Vendetta' mission is a recreation of 'The enemy of the gate' movie, it's the same as the main character as he was stuck in that fountain and found a friendly officer, however later in the movie a veteran german sniper wants to kill you because of his upstanding rep as a Russian sniper, resulting a game of cat and mouse,.iconic, that also adds to the 5 bullet challenge since the main protagonist did the same, worth the watch
I platinumed WAW but the trophy "Zeros" i think it was called is where you have to shoot 40+ planes literally made me QUIT trophy/achievement hunting all together lol The infamous Veteran trophy was way easier if you just took it checkpoint by checkpoint.
Here's some tips to get through Call of Duty World At War in Veteran mode: 1. If you ever take cover, look at the sky. You'll see enemy grenades flying at you and their trajectory. With this, you can anticipate the grenade blast zone and fling them back to the enemy with better accuracy. 2. Always pay attention to your compass. Locate and pinpoint enemy positions safely from the cover before shooting them. 3. Never get far from your allies. Although sucks at shooting, your allies provide an infinite meatshield you can safely cower behind from enemy bullets. Furthermore, they know how to react against enemy grenades. 4. Stay away from the frontline. The enemy won't spam grenades at you if you're far enough to outrange them. 5. Ever tried firing from the hip in close-quarter battle?
CoD's difficulty level doesn't change anything "strategically" with the AI, it just makes them bullet sponges and, gives them aimbots and inhuman reaction time.
Jesus H. Christ! I'd forgotten the trauma of platinum-ing this game 14 years ago until I saw you play the "Vendetta" level. That sniper duel was rage incarnate. also, I found out that on "Hard of the Reich," the enemies actually DO stop respawning if you kill enough of them (including all the panzershrek troopers and snipers shooting from each window of the Reichstag). I found that out the hard way after getting checkpoint-locked once or twice in that level.
Oh man, the Berlin mission was the worst. I still remember that gray multi-story house with one collapsed wall with nazis pouring out of it and you have to get upstairs. Problem is, they never stop coming, so you have to advance, which is extremely hard to do when you go down in just a couple of shots. I died a lot (I probably died a hundred time) and eventually just got lucky. Simple as that. That's just stupid. Anyway... The Reichstag mission was pretty irritating, too.
Okay, so you had trouble at the exact spots I did, as well as most people. That Bunker in Burn ‘Em is completely unfair. I actually cleared it out, then I charged at the Japanese with a flamethrower to take the last objective. I decided dying 1 more time out of 100 didn’t matter, as long as I took the chance to win. The first time I did this, it worked perfectly. I recommend clearing the bunker, chucking a few grenades outside to the last bit of guys and hauling ass at them with the flamethrower.
