Had to check this out before I catch up on all of the top class reviews of the latest Nike models. Those Mizuno shoes blew my mind! Interesting video mate. 😎🤘
I wonder if Mizuno sent a pair to TRG whether he would come out of RU-vid retirement for our viewing pleasure. Must be good for pacing parkruns. Otherwise they look a bit dicey for the NDW 100 and the like.
Helen obiri used than ON shoe this year, looks good! That also looks like the saucony endorphin elite 2, very excited for that one! Great video as always… just remember, any brand that comes out of Japan / China won’t do our size 😉 so that rules us out for ASICS / mizuno and other Chinese brands… as for brooks, that’s just sad because I love the max so would really want to try the Hyperion elites!
I have still try an ON shoe - at least they do our size. Further research indicates that ON shoe has no laces so would be wary of that my narrow foot LOL. Clearly "works" though! Did you think the likely Endorphin Elite 2 was the "6" dev one I showed with the decoupled midsole? If so, certainly will be different. I don't get it with Brooks. If they do "tempo" shoes up to a UK 15 why stop "race" shoes at a 12. And it is not as if they are some start up who won't have the processes in place. Pity in a way there just isn't seemimgly an elite distance runner who needs a UK 13. Somebody like Josh Kerr "looks" tall but not as tall as us.
@@TimGrose yeah the one with the decoupled midsole… that’s the image that’s been floating around for a few weeks along with a couple of others…. I think that’ll be the successor to the original one!
My prediction for the new Hyperion Elite is that Brooks will once again admit that the last 4 versions were crap but this is finally the one that can compete with the other brands. So nothing new basically;)
So much so that they will once again fail to make a UK 13. After all runners can do everything in a Ghost or maybe Ghost Max so why bother to put any effort into anything else.
Sorry to hear you are feeling poorly. Rest up a bit and I’m sure you will come right and back on the roads soon enough. I think you are probably right about Tracksmith not doing your size. They top out at 13US on the Eliot Runner.
I went through ithe list on my second monitor whiel you went through the list (I thought the xstep stuff from China was also interesting , decathalon seems to be using similiar designe queues so they might use the same source company). I agree that the photo's have lost their true dimentions when being uploaded to the web page , as you said half the shoes displayed looked like throwbacks from a a kiss concert. It is nice to see the actual shoes rather then some AI rendered speculation on Reddit.
Yeah it was good to know that certain shoes exist although seemed surprisingly few new offerings from the biggest brands. Maybe with the Olympics imminent anything worthy has already been seen. Most of the dev ones were from companies who traditionally don’t cater for those with large feet!
Hey Tim, if have any interest in fast trail shoes you should check out the new Adidas Terrex Agravic Speed (not ultra). So far they are probably the best trail shoes i have run in and the closest to a trail supershoe!
@@TimGrose Simply because i have not tried it yet (i probably will when they become discounted). I consume much more running content then i post about my opinion on shoes (i probably have around 40 pair of shoes in my collection including 4 pair of Takumi sens, Adios 3 to 8, Adizero pro, Adios Pro 1 to 3 Vaporfly, Alphafly, Endorphin Speed and Pros, etc... ). I bought less trail shoes simply because i run less on trails than road but i was looking for the same feeling as the road supershoes and didn't found it in the Endorphin Edge (good shoe but too hard landing and while fast didn't feel that propulsive). The Agravic Speed is to me instant perfection. It is full lightstrike pro with only a rim of lighstrike around the shoe for stability, contrarily to road supershoes, because you do not have a plate you have really good ground feel so you know where to place your feets for stability, the upper is ultra breathable with the overlay exactly a the right place to create support if the shoe is well tightened and a great aspect for me is that it fit perfectly my wide feets (the shoe is wide but plenty of narrow footed people have posted review and said the lockdown was great for them). So to sum it up they are supersoft and comfortable with fantastic energy return (the lighstripe pro is softer in the front and firmer in the heel and it helps faster transitions when your running form degrades), the traction is superb and maybe adquate for the UK (i live in Quebec, Canada so in the spring we do have muddy terrain) and since they are not plated and they are flexible they are as comfortable on a recovery run on trail then in a race at to speed. 😀
@@paulouellet4926 thanks for the detail. As you may have seen I have very narrow feet so am always a bit wary of reportedly wide shoes. That said if you can run in Takumi Sen shoes presume they are not ultra wide. I had the Terrex Speed Ultra from 2020 and I quite liked them but being mainly Boost were quite firm. Like you I don't run on trails too often and the ones that I do run on are usually fine for road shoes. That said I always wondered if can find a "proper" trail shoe I liked. Probably Peg Trail 4 GORE-TEX is the closest but not very "race". Did you try the Ultrafly - that fits rather wide and rather brick like in my large US 14 feet. What size are you?
@TimGrose good luck with a swfty recovery. I do hope these 41s are a lot better than the previous 4. Nike have really mest up with these in the past so I look forward to your review before buying
@@lifeinblackshort I did weigh them. 375g in a UK 13 so they are getting heavier. The 40 was a few grammes less and the 39 less still. They do look nice in the bright Volt colour however.
I know Usain Bolt takes a UK 13 and is and indeed still a Puma athlete and we are generally OK with them even if his shoe needs would have been somewhat different to us. I think what annoys me most about ASICS & Brooks is that they do plodders up to a UK 15 and even their “tempo” shoes but then why stop there. Nike & Saucony & Hoka are good in that by and large they do all their shoes in all sizes. adidas have at least started catering for us but even so is very varied on the availability of the larger sizes. Ditto New Balance. What is your goto shoe/brand for racing?
@@pstephens1234 Been impressed with the Velocity Nitro 3 - no frills but fits me well and for daily miles does a turn. I'll look out for the Deviate Nitro Elite 3 and/or the regular one whenever they are released.
@@Iyengar7 stack height was not only reason they are not allowed in official competition. If adidas will make them legal they will kinda lose their purpose. Anyway, it is adidas who need to send their shoes to legalize to iaaf iirc
No bit disappointing. Either that shoe is not close to release and/or not considered that any elites would want to race in it. I can’t think of any elites doing so in the current version. Indeed nor me!
