I remember world book day so fun!ost if the time it was a basic costume but once I remember going as the mad hatter. We (my mum let's be honest) made this super extremist, over-the-top mad hatter hat and the outfit. I actually lived it
I went as Harry Potter for World book day in year 9 and one of my teachers dressed up as Snape and I had my wand in my bag but we were going on a trip so I had to leave my wand and bag at school and my teacher took points of Gryffindor for no reason and my teacher looks like Snape and I look like Harry (not joking)
I remember in year four, I dressed up as Bella from twilight because I didn't tell my mum until the night before... my costume was jeans, a brown jumper and I brought a dream catcher in as an 'accessory' lol
I remember two of my world book days, one of them i went as Harley Quinn (my mum said it counted as comic books are still books). I had people constantly asking me why "I wasn't dressed as a book character". Another year i went in my pyjamas as one of the kids in The Midnight Gang. The freaking memories😂😂😂
I mean harry potter, twilight, Darren Shan. Michael Mopergo. The Goosebumps books. They mainly all were casual clothes or a uniform. Or for the tiger costume. Be Anne Fines : The Killer Cat. It's a naughty big orange striped cat.
My mum actually did the best homemade costumes, she still does. She is that mum that everyone talks about comparing themselves to when it comes to costumes Except she has not had an easy life and struggles with tasks like housework, cooking, brushing her teeth and saying no. She doesn't have the perfect life and certainly doesn't feel like the mother who geys envyed by other mums. She is the best by the way. Just because another mother can do the best costumes, does not mean that her life is all running smoothly and she's this perfect mother who can do everything well. You have your own mum skills which have the potential to be the envy of other mums.

Year 1-I went as Dorothy from wizard of Oz Year 2-I. Went as Anne frank?(idk why it’s so random Year3-idk some robot thing Year 4-mad hatter Year 5-azula(yes not a book it’s from atla but I begged my mum) Year 6-a suffragette (my history era) Year 7-I honestly dont remember Year 8-WORST ERA I WENT AS SOME WEIRD CREEPY DOLL 😭 😢 😭 Year 9-camper from camp half blood Anything else-not arsed to dress up Conclusion-the older you get the worse the costumes get(this years year 7 we’re so good tho these 2 people went as dazai and orange hair guy who’s short idk why year 7 so so well on this)
I went as gangsta granny, harry potter, the very hungry catapillar, and my mom MADE that one so it was awesome, some years they did a best costume competition and id win each time
Omg i remember my last world book day ever, i made my costume entirely myself and literally made extra limbs so i could go as charlottes web, and the person who won in my class? The girl who re-used her cat in the hat costume that she wore and won with last year. I MADE LIMBS
I went as Harry Potter ⚡️ and one of my teachers went as snape and when he seen me dressed up as Harry Potter and in a Gryffindor cloak and with a Gryffindor jumper and tie on he took points of Gryffindor and I even had a wand but i was going on a trip and had to leave my bag that had my wand in it so i couldn't defend myself until i got back at lunchtime and my teacher actually looks like Snape and I look like Harry (not joking)
I once had world book day decided to go as a Giraffe also went to the doctors the same day missing world book Day dressed as a giraffe because I had tonsillitis
Me and most of the girls in my hear would show up in pyjamas and say it was "the sleepover club" which I don't know if that even exists but if it does we never read it 😂
My mum made one world book day costume for my older sister when she was in primary school and that is what we both wore every year 😂 it was Winnie the Witch
