There is a lot of price gouging too. $10 for a gallon of gas. Dollar general is absolutely empty and people are limiting what can be bought. We need help please. Many of us cannot get out of our driveways. We live on Huntsville Road. A dead end street. Could someone please bring water, food, supplies, medicine, oxygen!!! Please many people don’t have cell service either. We desperately need help. 😢

I've been hungry with no hope of food. One of those sandwiches and 2 bottles of water can keep you active for 3 days. Eat any veggies or condiments immediately. Eat the meat a few hours later. Save the cheese and bread for the next day. Try to not poop or puke.

I’m in Glenwood. A part of Marion. We are blocked by trees across driveway as are many of my neighbors. We haven’t heard or seen anyone from national guard, many places are closed or out of provisions. Gas places are out of gas. Plus we are all running on empty and not sure if we can make it to get gas which is cash only and no ATMs working. Just wondering if anyone knows we are here!! Haven’t heard a peep about Glenwood. Thank you.

Nobody has even mentioned Marion in the news. We are a part of Marion called Glenwood community. Many elderly on our dead end street. Please we need help. There is a baptist church in town here but we can’t get to the church or out of our driveway. Please we are begging for help!!!!😢😢😢

Our neighbors here in central NC just had a World Central Kitchen fundraiser two weeks ago (last year they raised $47,000 I believe). It warms my heart to know WCK was one of the first to show up to help those in need 200 miles from us.

Don’t forget more remote areas like Jackson and Transylvania counties. They have multiple bridges out and no one has been able to get into the remote communities that never had cell service to begin with-I’ve got former classmates who retired to Lake Toxaway and I have no idea if they’re safe because the internet access is out, too.

Back in 2021 in my country when we were struck those from regions who was not affected by the typhoon send some relief goods to my city and its nearest region who was devastated, those province who was not that as badly affected send their men and other essential worker to repair the powerlines and infrastructure that was damage and clearing the road from fallen trees and debris, after 2 weeks we were back in our feet, im flabbergasted why in the US a first world country why are they not doing this? Why are the other neighboring states not helping those who are devastated by Helene?
