Irish boxer Wayne McCullough has had multiple unforgettable experiences surrounding the Olympic games.
Bryan Salmond sat down with the 1992 Olympic Silver Medalist to reminisce.
Wayne's Olympic journey started with 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, Korea. Where Wayne won one fight, and lost one fight, but gained valuable experience in international competition. Wayne also enjoyed the honor of carrying the Irish flag during the opening ceremonies in Seoul.
In 1992 Wayne did much better in completion. Reaching the Gold Medal match, where he lost to the Gold Medalist Joel Casamayor. Interestingly enough. Casamayor now lives in Las Vegas where both Wayne and Joel were inducted into the Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame 2019.
Wayne also talked about his unforgettable experience carrying the Olympic torch through his neighborhood in Belfast, Ireland back in 1992.
