It's exercise combined with a fun activity and you don't need an expensive horse for it. But you don't have to, if you don't want to. You can just go back to your photography. That's fun too.

With all due respect, but asking someone to murder you, because people like to exercise by running and jumping with a wooden horse instead of the expensive and high-maintenance real version, it kindof makes you seem a bit...well..forgive me...irrational. Widdekuu91 . Obviously you haven't been listening. When I said "shoot me now" (once) it was a joke.But I personally find it dumb that they have watered down an actual sport.And high maintenance? You don't know anything about horses.Don't get me wrong there is a lot of horses that are high maintenance but they don't have to be.I'm not asking you to agree with me,I don't care.I am simply stating my opinion just as you stated yours.

These are real dressage riders. There just screwing around on hobby horses. The outfits they are wearing are hundreds of dollars and that's a professional barn.
I'm not a top dressage rider and only compete at national level, But my outfit is over $800 so I think theirs would be multple thousands, One of the girls was wearing a samshield helmet which cost $600 plus.

hollow misty Obscure sports have a long tradition in Finland - none of them ever became worldwide phenomenons. I think cellphone throwing (using old, broken phones) is pretty funny though. I mean who wouldn't want to throw a broken phone who caused you headaches?
Navana Redwing this is like half time for football. BUT hobby horse is now starting to be considered a true sport. There is already true competitions of this were people do compete for money, and they jump hurdles and do dressage. I just can't see how they can keep a straight face doing the newly forming sport
These are real PROFESSIONAL dressage riders. I believe you even see Steffens Peters in there. I think this was just to poke fun and have this be like a fun thing to watch for spectators at this show 😂 These were all professional athletes
I can't believe equestrians are getting so offended - lighten up just a little, eh? What the hobby horse rider does with their life doesn't impact your sport in the slightest.

I used to do this sport, but last year my thoroughbred caught some rare hoof disease and had to put him down. His name was "Stic-Kenya S" after what happened to me the first time I tried to ride him. It was awkward for both of us, but we really got to know each other after that and went on to win many awards. I promised him I'd never ride again, so I retired. Fond memories though. Great sport.

Hobby-horsing is awesome, as a Hobby-F1-driver i also feel and believe that i am more skilled than Lewis Hamilton when i holding my Steering Wheel run by foot around the Spa-Francorchamps race track. My cousin with his stuffed animals is also world champion in Hobby-Tiger-Dressage. My little sister with her plastic bag is world champion in Hobby-2-feet-couch-skydiving. My friend is vice-world champion in Hobby-indoor-flatroom-marathon that instead of the easy to do 42 kilometers of real marathon runs hard to do 2 kilometers indoor marathon. My neighbour holding his fishing rod over a volcano has the world record in Hobby-Volcano-Lava-fishing of most fishes fished in a day. Hashtag RespectAllHobbySports
I know this is an old video, but this ranks up there as one of strangest things I've ever seen. Reading some of the comments, I understand they're also professional horse riders, but this... this is absolutely absurd, and not in a good way.

Reading the comments I know again why I don't like riders, always so serious, and the sticks they have up their asses would be of much better use if used in hobby horsing instead of seated on a real horse.

Aquila Latin LMFAO NO. They are not doing it for real. Steffens Peters is in that group and he’s a dressage rider on an actual horse not a stick horse. Also those outfits cost a lot, and one girl was wearing a sams shield which they cost 600$+ so I don’t think she would be using that helmet for something a stupid as hobby horsing (no offense I just find it as a joke rather then anything serious) so no this was just *real riders* making fun of hobby horsing
About a month ago me and my bestie went to a horse show and there were these jumps that humans could jump over. We tried it and to our surprise it was fun! Even if we weren't riding hobby horses. Before that I thought hobby horsing was a joke! I thought it was hilarious and honestly kinda stupid, but now, look at me. I'm the hilarious and stupid girl running around on a fake horse. Go hobby horsing! 🐴
Please someone explain me the differences between hobby horse and this besides hobby horse has no rider clothes and most they do is jumping obstacles and galoping? So hobby horse is a copy of this?
