Ironically, that's actually what the settlements are in the first place, returning Palestinian Jewish properties back to the rightful owner or the next of kin... they just happen to be Israelis now because the Palestinian Authority refuses to have Jewish citizens. Most people don't realize that the West Bank was 65% Jewish prior to the foreign Arab invasion in the 40s that forcibly pushed Palestinian Jews into Israel and stole their homes. Gaza Strip was 80% Jewish. Because of that ethnic cleansing forced on them in the 40s, the overwhelming majority of modern day Palestinians are post-partition immigrants, not the pre-48 native residents. Israel actually ended up taking in the majority of people who lived in the entire region in 1948 on addition to the diaspora Jews, despite the partition plan calling for no Palestinians to be displaced, because the foreign Arab armies never left what remained Palestine after Israel defeated them(Palestine didn't have an army to defend itself from them and so couldn't defeat them). The real conflict has always been the uninvited foreign Arab colonization of the areas that already had residents, not the incorporation of the refugee Jews into areas that were previously uninhabited. Israel recognizes the rights of the pre-48 residents and their descendants, regardless of their religion. The "Palestinians" who are getting kicked out of "their homes" in the West Bank are not the pre-48 Palestinians and their descendants, they are the people who had no one in their family who had Palestinian citizenship prior to 67. To anyone ignorant about history who want to spew misleading statistics about the number of Arabs in the region prior to the partition... all Palestinians, regardless of religion, were counted as Arabs in censuses because the official language was Arabic... that included Palestinian Jews. Palestinian Jews stopped identifying as Arab after other Arabs kicked them out of their homes and forced them into Israel.

The rest of the world is under obligation not to assist the party who is not complying with the ICJ rulings.

@@norman4588 That's all true except for the first part, the kingdom of Israel is older than 10th century BC. The Merenptah Stele from 1200 BC details the Pharaoh's victory over Israel, so the kingdom is presumably even older since by 1200 BC it was already big enough to draw the attention of the Egyptians.

Israel didn't accept it, which is why the UN needed the court to make a judgement. Now they have, so Israel has no defence.
