absolutely the fact that ecuador has lost only 1 game in over 10 matches, while playing against brazil and argentina, and only being 44th is insanity, usa lost to japan and iran in the friendlies, while ecuador tied, and gained no advantage for tying against teams in the top 20’s
It’s true, they take into account years of matches with their points formula. A team like England hasn’t been playing like a top 5 team for over a year but because of the success they have had in the past few years they remain high.
"FIFA rankings mean absolutely nothing." Not really, the rankings are not an absolute measurement of quality but saying it means absolutely nothing would imply Ghana is as likely to win vs Brazil as any other team, which is obviously not true.
Actually Saudi ranking should be higher but they added Saudi in a bad ranking cuz they were against Argentina so there were no chance to win and so they were like they will have the worst game= bad ranking
@@TheCook2123 Exactly, the rankings aren't shit, if it's done properly then it gives you the ability to make a prediction based entirely on probability. So the fact that Saudi beat argentina or some other match up has an unexpected or suprising result doesn't mean rankings are shit. It just says that the rare case has occurred.
Its because the rankings arent only for the tournaments but also qualification and other matches including the national team in which Belgium nearly won all off them before 2022
@@cloud5209 Also the linesman was being very quick on the flag, wrongly on a couple of occasions, potentially stopping other goals. That aside tho Argentina looked a little lackluster in that game
@@sennawlr one of y favourite players (i support porto btw) and its so sad seeing benfica fans clling him Pernremi and Tarenalty just cuz he takes a few penaltys
@@ahmedaden789 its gotten to the point where a news reporter at press conference told him about this and asked if hes been diving for pens, its not sad on me its sad on society that this is normal
@@Jason-J00 the way you said "law" gives me a pretty good idea of just how high your football iq is. England did horribly in the Nations League and all other matches recently yet their fifa ranking remains unchanged and you still think Fifa isn't helping them out?
@@benTheSchmidt If they did horrible how did they managed to get to euro final and world cub semi final, they got a good run, until this Nations league they had gone unbeaten in each of their last 24/25 matches i guess, I don't think u don't even know this, Guess I could tell ur football IQ too. Fifa don't favor teams u dump fuc#, Belgium also got good run since world cup, they how do u think Belgium managed to the second place without winning anything, Fifa helping them too? if u don't know anything just shut up kid.
@@benTheSchmidt because England are trying to win tournaments. The league of nations was Southgate putting mostly benchsitters on the pitch to figure out who's playing well
I definitely think group E is the group of death, you got two European powerhouses in Germany and Spain, Japan and Costa Rica can also cause some upsets as Japan did in 2018 and Costa Rica did in 2014 so I'm super excited to see how this group will turn out this year
Their performances say otherwise Japan is somewhat of a dark horse Costa Rica haven’t done enough since 2014 to justify Overall this would be the group of death if you made it a decade earlier…
@@XXXTENTAClON227 Performance otherwise? Look at the players playing for Spain and Germany. All for them play at top teams and are at average better then Englands, Belgiums and Brazils Team
Japan literally have 8 of their starting eleven playing on Europe... Tomiyasu, Yoshida, Endo, Morita, Kamada, Mitoma, Ito and Kyogo. Gonda and Yamane plays in Japan but have Europe-level quality. And most of the other called-up players also play in Europe, like Daizen, Minamino, Tanaka, Itakura, Doan, Kubo and etc. They can maybe not win any match of the tournament, but will give trouble to the opponents
Who's here after Saudi Arabia vs Argentina.. and agrees that stats don't matter... only thing matters is how much you are in the game that 2 hours... Match time..
Group E is more of a group of death for me, because Japan is very underrated and can cause problems. Without Costa Rica (who r underrated btw) they would have the highest avg rank
@@Vickzq that's actually a very good group ngl. But I think it's just Serbia vs Switzerland. If Japan makes it to he last 16 it would be a massive loss for Germany or Spain.
They placed Germany behind Denmark and Portugal, S.Korea and Sweden behind the USA, of course the ranks don't mean shite. Yet, Belgium in normal circumstances would still hands down beat Canada.
@@yayaiden4235 pov: yu started watching football from yesterday😀 Sqauads have not been yet announced yu kid Ned fra bel are overrated not spain ger yu kid go and watch golf
It’s a good approach on how to calculate the group of death however we must remember that CONMEBOL is a lot more competitive than the CONCACAF therefore Ecuador for example is ranked lower than a lot of teams that would have a really tough night against the Ecuadorians. Mexico for example is always in the top 20 however if you put them to compete in the Conmebol or UEFA, they would struggle to even qualify to the World Cup much less remain that highly ranked.
Group F easily the hardest. Firstly you have Belgium and Croatia, both semi-finalist of the previous World Cup, you then have Canada who everybody thought they would make a comeback, until they saw the group, then lastly we of course have Morroco, the world cups biggest underdogs. Nobody could’ve predicted Morroco would top it, Croatia would follow up, Belgium would get grouped, and Canada would finish on a wopping 0 points. Unbelieveable.
Mate England are shit you know that and I know that take your imperial shades off we aren’t that great anymore our economy is going down the drain and we are delusional about having anything good to talk about 🤣🤣
Would be funny if us Americans took a win or two off you in the group stage. Actually kinda optimistic about the American team this time around with Pulisic and McKennie
@@tealic367 idk how I’d feel, my girl is American, moved over here from Boston and I feel like I’d be happy for her but she’d also make my life hell xD definitely an interesting time for you guys! And if we bottle you got my full support!
Despite the rankings, my group was group H, Portugal, Ghana, S Korea, and Uruguay… seems like th most evenly set group with players that can make a difference in each team
Yes from that group any team can go through the next phase. But group of death should be a group where there are three or four teams which suppose to go through in any other group and in this year world cup I cant see such group.
Well Ecuador showed that this list is wrong. Ecuador deserved more, however, it showed that it is a tean that is very strong. It definitly has to be higher...
@@scoutgaming737 damn by that logic Argentina is number one because they beat Croatia who beat Brazil and they also beat France so 💀💀💀, fifa rankings don’t mean shit
It is way harder than group B which England is in worth Iran, USA, and Wales, whereas Spain and Germany have japan and Costa Rica which could cause some problems
I honestly think that group E is the group of death as Spain and Germany are world class teams japan are decent and so are Costa Rica but it’s hard to decide
Well go and look up Germany previous results in euros and world cup thats what matters. IF your looking at nations league like this means anything this is like being in the Europa conference not europa league or champions league fans dont care players dont care.
@@aganbraganca4156 I mean England has won one world cup but where you finish recent and how you perform is what makes the rankings. Also England, France and Belgium have lost points recently in the ranking and Italy has gained a ton but Italy is also not in the world cup 2022 because they failed to make it.
