Alojzije Vijačkić and his son Toni did not give up the tradition that is more than 700 years old. Namely, in Oćevija near Vareš (Bosni and Herzeogina), they produce tools for agriculture with the power of water and fire, which is certainly unique in Europe and perhaps in the world. The power of the water drives a hammer weighing several hundred kilograms, which forges red-hot iron, and the diligent hands of Tony and Alojzije shape it into axes, hoes, horseshoes, pekas, pans, pans, plowshares, plows. Tony had an invitation to work in Germany but declined the offer. He works at his home, in his smithy, is with his family and earns more in the Oćevija than in Germany. Of the 64 blacksmiths who once worked in the Oćevija squares, five remained. Tony inherited the craft from his father and has no intention of leaving it. Maybe he says it, he passes it on to his son, because by forging tools for agriculture and utensils, one can live well in BiH as well. With a little more thoughtful promotion, the medieval Maidans could become a great tourist attraction. My smithy is my Germany, Tony told us.
