I love the synergy that the 4th couple (#10) ~ 11:01 ~ and 5th couple (#74)' ~ 14:19 ~ displayed 'toward/with' each other, that coupled-stepping feeling! Great work, everybody! Amazing!
Woooow! This brings back so many memories from my teen years watching Steppers on the Westside of Chicago!!! These couples are in a whole different league!!! Elite stepping!!! Loved all of them! 👣👣👣💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽
Our People looking good 🙂 & You to 🙂 I tried to see who won, but they all were so good I stopped & just enjoyed the show. I love Our Culture ❤ much love. Cleveland
@@LadyMargaretSteppin I have plenty of Family in Chicago, some came up a few weeks ago. Me & some Family here are planning on coming up at the end of August. I'll keep up to see what yall going on & if something is, have My Cuzzns bring Us through.
Couples 3 & 4 & 5 simply marvelous. Those gentlemen let the ladies shine . Loved lady #3's cape dress, sista #4 planted her heels in the dirt. Lady #2 had a good spirit she was going along with it, man #2 was smooth but guess he forgot it was couples not solo
Now that's what I absolutely love, grown and very mature folks from the old school dancing to and playing oldies but goodies music instead of that trash of today.
I’m from the sunny C’bean and love 💜 to watch this stepping culture from America, hold onto it my brothas n sistas 👍🏾 don’t let your culture die - Bless you all 🙏🏾🙏🏾
It was a ghetto pass...It is proof of your Chi-town I.D., your experience & heritage. Home team, South sider myself ... @ CVS high school we stepped ourselves right on into adulthood lol. We step today out of nostalgia, reminiscing of the time of our youth, when we could throw down @ the burning spear... It's a shame youth & wisdom don't occur simultaneously
@@alisonfranklin4494 born and raised in Chicago, spent my summers here in Buffalo NY, until I settled down here since 1982. I'm an hour flight from Chicago and still go there to eat and reminisce. By the time I hook up with fam, I remember why I left
It's so funny how many people who do West Coast Swing have no clue that this exists. So many of the moves/turns are so similar. It just shows how the original swing dance (founded by Black people) developed and spread through different communities in the US.
I have only have two comments; 1-- couldn't really hear the music they were dancing to, and couldn't hear the MC But if this is what gets us together as a people let's keep doing this. Great job everyone.
Grown folks, big man and pretty in the white was real nice on their feet real smooth - real Chi town steppingthat floor presence-slick "Gosto" niceee'😁😁💪🏽❤💯👌🏾
Not sure how this popped up in my feed. But I’m happy to see Drew still out here killing the steppers scene!! (Good times in Ms. Robinsons Ballroom Class at Mumford!)
Love it! 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿 to all the contestants everyone looked so smooth grooving and getting down but Ms. Tori with those "to die for legs", the man before her and couple 74 put that footwork in baby!
Can we talk about 7? LMFAO, literally can't breathe. Bless him, l think he thought he was being different, unique, no madam, just stupid, but funny as hell
Drew and Keesha for me all day. I can tell when he gets happy because he starts to *handle* his partner- and i am here for it! That butterfly - mwah! Perfection.
67 & 74 did they thing I really enjoyed it 10 also did a good job there's was a little off by the music but they dance well great job to everyone #blackenjoyment 💜👏👏👏👏
I think that they have to use the whole perimeter of the floor so the audience and the judge can see the steps of the dance if they stayed in the center of the floor they can't spread out to show us the skills of the steps so if they go around the perimeter of the dance floor the thing is based on skills of the steps that's why it's called stepping and the move of the body
I feel so sad for people that just can’t appreciate the art and dancing. Some of these couples are in their 60’s and are dancing and moving better than a lot of “slimmer” people. Yet they can only make nasty remarks and hateful comments. And yes they were close to stepping on some toes but to my knowledge none of them did. And to answer to what’s wrong with “our” people is there are those of us who find more enjoyment tearing our people down than lifting them up. So for those whose comments were nothing but nasty I think if you want to find out what’s wrong with our people maybe they should first look more inward than outward 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Some people lack compassion and uplift themselves by putting down others. Never taking into consideration that it took a lot for them to even do this. While also knowing that people are recording and will be posting this on social media. But they did it anyway. So when they look at the comments and see those type of nasty comments how do they think that makes them feel. May God soften their hearts 🙏🏾❤️
When I watch this I think GOD, I think of Jesus Christ the living GOD and the Lion if Judah. As I watch his people Judah in this particular expression I see another part of GOD manifested in the people he called a treasure to his own. I see a side of GOD that is never talked about. A personal side of him and his people Judah. I see a side of our creator who as if he were sitting alone with his people just enjoying himself and relaxing. I see a side of our Heavenly Father that no one is privy to see but his saints. Understand I'm not calling these people saints or for that matter on the team with GOD ( everyone who is black is not on Team God if you know what I mean ), what I'm saying is one day when all his saints have passed and gone on to be with the Lord and the great day of judgement has passed....this type of celebration, this personal vibe so to speak will be had between Judah and his creator. As far as the inappropriate comments, don't blame the commenter, blame the demons & unclean spirits working through the commenters because of jealously knowing they will not be able to participate for eternity in the great feast of our Lord. All they will be able to do is watch from the other with that rich young ruler who asked if he could warn his brothers about WHERE HE IS and also begged Abraham for water.
I JUST STARTED WATCHING IT AND I THINK REFERENCE TO THE SECOND COUPLE THAT THE WOMAN SHOULD ALWAYS BE HIGHLIGHTED PERIOD,, ALL THAT FANCY SHAKING UP SHAKING YOUR FOOT THAT THIS MAN IS DOING OR THE MEN WILL DO THE WOMEN SHOULD BE HIGHLIGHTED CALL ME OLD-FASHIONED OR WHATEVER IT'S ALL ABOUT THE QUEENS IN THIS THING LEAD THE QUEEN
Nah! The woman was barely moving. She should not have been in the competition. I don't know what their motivation was she clearly was not up to competitive status. Number 7 did what is known as old skool stepping.
But that is tradition. And the main reason why what some people don’t understand and call it gay. Two brothers dancing together. It was so they could bring their skills. Sort of like a battle. Please look Ty Skippy and Celeste. Because if you think this was wild then your mind will be blown by those Legends and partners. Those ladies would literally drag those guys across the floor so they could show off their skills 😊
@@LadyMargaretSteppin Which one was this? I was born and raised in The Chi and I found the grass is FAR FROM GREENER ON THE OTHER SIDE.... I MISS HOME 😭😢☹️ I used to Step as well...MISS IT!!!!! 💃🏼🕺🏽 Thanks for your answer
