World mourns death of British monarch Queen Elizabeth II 

I know the Queen is also a human being, but I still can't believe she's gone. Known by people of all nations, ages, ethnicities and cultures around the world, she was perhaps the most famous person in human history. No other legend will ever come close to her with her grace, her kindness and her compassion. My condolences to her from Japan.

I'm from the Netherlands. Like all around the world I have never known another monarch then Queen Elizabeth in the UK. The announcement of her death came last night. And right at that moment it was pouring with rain and there was thunder and lightning around here. I have the deepest respect how she served the UK and the Commonwealth. She truly was the Queen of the world. I hope she's with Philip, her father, her sister Margaret and her mother right now and has wonderful horses and dogs around her. Bless you, your Majesty. She was a truly amazing woman and I can't believe she has gone. She had a wonderful sense of humour, but also she kept to her vows and gave our nation 70 great years of service and kept going right to the end. But she was not only our queen, she was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother to her sons and her grandchildren. Our city main hospital named as the queen herself..Queen Elizabeth The Second Hospital..We even sang God Save the Queen in school during the colonial time. We are being colonized but treated with respect by the British and they even develop the land itself and share their knowledge to the local especially about religion and academic. As a US Navy vet born and raised in the United States, I sit here utterly stunned at this news. There's something deeply upsetting to me about the passing of such a long-lived, world-respected, kind, witty, and loved woman who also just so happened to be the Queen of the United Kingdom. Though, I suppose it is the sadness and grief that the UK, and the world as a whole, has lost such a benevolent beacon of hope for all of us that speaks volumes of how cherised she was. Even here in the US, I've seen several cars with window stickers of Queen Elizabeth on their cars and I've yet to meet anyone who had any ill words about her so I believe she was highly respected and greatly adored even in places not under her juristiction. My heart truly goes out to her family, the wonderful people of the United Kingdom and her realms, and all of those who respected and revered her for the person she was. Rest in peace, From your bothers and sisters across the pond.

Everytime I hear the National Anthem, I still want to sing God Save the Queen, I guess the song is so embedded in out minds that to change it to King is still mentally difficult. I never met her but did see her while i was in St John Ambulance in the 1980s, but the people of the UK loved her, I loved her and I can never thank her for the hard work she did even when frail. She gave up her entire life/privacy/personal human wants and needs to serve the public. Some of you may care and some of you may not. I feel tremendously sad at the Queens loss even though I am American and of course never met Elizabeth. I truly thought she would make it to 100 at least and like many it just felt like to me that she just would be around for so much longer . But now I think her spirit died when Philip died and her body finally sadly caught up . I can’t imagine how hard it would be to go on after losing your friend and husband of 73 years . I am glad they are together again . I think a big part of what makes me sad is she really was one of the last of her kind . She was always respectful, graceful , dignified and kind . She put her country first her entire life . That kind of a leader is rare and I don’t think any monarch will ever match her . It’s sad also that there have been so few women in power especially for as long as she lived and likely in my life time at least we won’t see another Queen. Tomorrow when the world wakes it will be the first time in 70 years that there will be no Queen of England . Rip Elizabeth your job is at least complete and you may now fly high with the angels and rest forever in peace .
