Thanks for watching! This week's vlog is a bit different from my usual daily vlogs. I really love how Japan is portrayed through Makoto Shinaki's works and wanted to share my take on it. Hope you guys enjoy! Instagram: @solli.fe instagram.com/solli.fe/
For years I had the dream of going to Japan 🇯🇵 and finally the dream became a reality, it’s been 5 days since I’ve been back home and I’m extremely nostalgic and sentimental about Japan 🇯🇵 I just want to go back as soon as possible 😭😭😭what a beautiful, beautiful, amazing country and culture that is! Thank you 🙏 so very much Sol for your great videos ❤greetings from Montreal Canada 🇨🇦 🍁
I visited all of these places too! My favourite thing about visiting Yotsuya was that even the parked cars and bicycles were in the exact spots from the film! Finding out how there is no changes made to his environments was so cool - and gives the films a higher realism when I watch now. When watching films I'm so used to them using locations that are miles apart and pretending they are in the same neighborhood - but Makoto Shinkai's characters actually have routes that makes sense and that creates a higher believability in his worlds.
All the Cameo of Your name, weathering with you,the garden of words all the infrastructure damn it was a nice vlog my life goal was to create exactly like yours
Your videos are the reason why i am so obsessed with japan, just went to Hokkaido last year summer and i cant wait to travel to japan again. Love from Singapore!
I got to visit Japan for the second time last summer, unfortunately it didn't rain on any of the days we were there (and worse it was hot as hell). One of my main regrets when I first visited it was that I didn't really get to appreciate how beautiful Japan was as a whole, and when I got to go there last year I set off to wander the city of Tokyo by myself, get around everywhere by train. I went to the Yoyogi park when the sun was starting to set, and it was a very peaceful moment for me. P.S. You have now inspired me to want to animate a short film of just cooking some breakfast.
I has always been my dream to get away from the noisy world and go to Japan.Such a beautiful country cannot be expressed with words but feelings.I swore i will definitely go to Japan.🇯🇵🎌 💙💙 Lots of love from India 🇮🇳
I never been to Japan, watching your video today is refreshing. Definitely would visit one day and wear nice kimono. Have a beautiful weekend. Love from Finland Hance
Your channel has been the highlight of my Saturday morning routine. I love to watch your videos while I have a slow breakfast after a fast paced week. I’ve never been one to watch much tv, but I absolutely love your videos and always look forward to them. Thank you for sharing this joyful, peaceful work of art.
I'm a huge, huge fan for over a year and watched all your videos at least 2x/each 😂😍I watch them while I take my slow-down coffee time because I love your cafe runs. This is why I know a portion of this video is re-used/recycled, which is kind of a let-down. I still love you and would still watch and look out for every upload. I hope you enjoy making and sharing them as much as I love watching them. ❤❤❤
This is so beautiful!! I'll be visiting Tokyo this month (live in Korea) and wanted to visit some of the Your Name spots 🤭 so couldnt have come out at a more perfect time! Love your videos ☺️
Lovely scenes. Tokyo under the rain is beautiful. It makes me want to visit Japan again, and to watch several Shinkai movies again too. I do the same thing as you every year. His attention to detail is incredible. Great video.
thank you as always for showing around ☺ the part that I like about your video is that you still keep the original sound and only add in a subtle music in the background. it's very nice :-) it gave new ideas for my itinerary planning as well! I'll definitely put shinjuku gyoen the my list
Thank you so much for your videos. I probably watched more than 10 now. Currently beefing up my travel funds and hoping to travel (whether locally or out of the country) this summer 2024. This is really inspiring and made me realize that I need to see the world. I'm 28 and never been into any places outside Metro Manila Philippines.
I really loved this vlog dedicated to Makoto Shinkai, my favorite anime director after Hayao Miyazaki. His illustration styles and emotional stories are really unique, and so I also dedicate at least once a year to watch all of his films. My favorite is Weathering With You, but aesthetically its also The Garden of Words.
Never was my friend, never was, and we can't change it, at least not all it. But, it's ok. When we can't change something, we're challenged to change ourselves. Let's just move...
Watching this makes me eager for my 2nd trip next year. I was there last april and did some of the Your Name pilgrimage. When i left Yotsua Station and started seeing the movie come to life it was sureal. . It was pouring down raining that day but it didnt deter me. The steps were amazing to see in person.
Thank you for allowing me to learn about the culture of Japan through your experiences, your content is very enriching, a special greeting from Colombia, blessings
Nice to meet you. Thank you for the beautiful and tasteful video. There were so many rediscoveries. I live near Seiseki Sakuragaoka in the suburbs of Tokyo. There are many locations for Ghibli anime and special effects movies around here. ★All the dishes you make look delicious! ★Cafe (laughs)
I've stumbled upon the video seeing only the thumbnail (not reading the title at all) and my brain was screaming "WATCH THIS!!! YOU KNOW THAT STAIRCASE!"
I loved the time lapse so much!! And for someone who is afraid of heights it’s so wonderful to have these videos to show me views like this haha. I tried going to the top of the Empire State Building once but it was so nerve wracking i didn’t really get to enjoy it hahah. Love your videos as always and consider it such a gift to have found your channel! Wishing you a smooth and enjoyable journey back home if you haven’t done so already, but if you have hope you are settling in nicely! ❤
Great video and insight into Shinkai’s locations. If I ever go to Japan I hope to visit all of them… maybe with a special someone who also shares Makoto’s sensibility in movie making who knows?! Thanks.
Very cool idea for a video. Months in the making! Well done and thank you. P.S. I've made a similar rice dish, except crumbling seaweed snacks instead of potato chips :-)
