I've bounced the LTTB with 181 pen on the sides and front. Then I face hugged it (T-34-2) shot the turret. Interesting tank though, don't think I would get it because I hate the MT-25

I recently bought the KV-13 because i didnt liked the heavy line anymore. The KV-13 is my money maker, together with my SU-100Y. The 13 is a very nuce tank to drive, i liked him even stock

I started up the line towards the IS tanks, but realized that the T54 and T62 were available. I studied them when I was in the Army (I was a zipperhead) and can't wait to drive them. Like you said, the KV13 makes a great bridge between the two lines and now that I've seen this review, I'm looking forward to driving it as more than just a means to an end. Your reviews rock!

I like the KV-13 it`s a very good tier 7 medium tank because of the armor and mobility. the gun isnt that bad for a medium. the gun depression is crap but it gets the job done and i think in a very good way. (Ps: a tiger or tiger P dont need to hit weak spots because the gun they use have over 200 mm of penetration ;) good video have fun

I've had one for a while and Jingles was midly surprised to know it was sat in my garage.. Still learning to drive it really but so far I have enjoyed owning my baby IS and I think as I gain more experience, the more enjoyable it will be. And it really is bouncy bouncy on the front.. The KV13 was nothing Else but the first bluprint of the IS1 but then Stalin was angry with Kliment Voroschilow (K.V.) and the tank was renamed to IS (Iossif Stalin).

Wow, I have the KV-85 and have researched and can buy the IS, and was going to just sell the 85 and buy the IS, but now I think I'll just at least research the KV-13. Thx Jangles u cheeki skrub :P

I'm sure glad they fixed this tech tree problem with the KV13. You can now advance up the tree to tier 8, 9 and 10. The A-44 is next in the line now.

thx for the video jingles, recently invested in my kv-13, 2 marks of excellent already in a week and a half! tho i have to say, this tank with the derp fun is actually amazing, u ram the LTs and one shot them with the derp, also as a flanking tank u can derp the enemy's rear/side armor and see those whooping 300ish dmg

The Konisch was buffed in the recent patch, it's AP damage is now the same as it's APCR, so it's a decent alternative to the 88 if you want reliable damage over raw alpha. It depends a lot on how you want to play the tank, the 3601H is a good close quarters tank with it's armor so the 88 will suffice, but if you want better poke at range then the Konisch is now a very good alternative.

It's a good tank for me so far. Haven't had anyone target me specifically in the Asia server but we'll see as I play it more often. Armor is really good. I've gotten steel wall and spartan badges twice at the same time so fat. It has saved my ass in the battles I've played in so far. Depression or lack thereof is really annoying and am still trying to really live with it.

yea it was, i miss my KV-13, im hoping to get it back. to bad that im only at 200K credits. i loved the fact that i could play as a heavy and a medium tank at the same time. i just loved that tank.

shane fitzpatrick Yeah, if you know how to play it, it can give you a pretty remarkable winrate. The gun is Okay, but you have to learn to deal with it. I have had about 3 games where I got about 3k dmg.

Love the KV-13. By far my favorite medium tank for tier 1-7. It goes know where but its a blast taking a heavy tank hull up against other mediums. I get ppl raging all the time calling me a hack, cause they cant pen my hull.

They nerfed it pretty hard, I used to use the stock turret with the 75mm L/70 because the traverse on the top turret with the 88 was beyond awful. Now even the stock turret traverse is useless.

I was always playing with the thought buying the KV-13 but everyone on the fromus was complaining about it, so i turned to the IS but maybe in the future il get the KV-13, it does look like an interesting tank. Thanks for the Review Jingles.

One thing, with the grind to Elite the KV-1S, you'll unlock the kv-13. And who doesn't want to Elite their kv-1s? Fun as hell! I'm actually enjoying the kv-13 so far.

KV-13 is such a fun tank, so bouncy. It is probably going to become the seed for a new Soviet medium line. If that's not the case then this really should have been a premium tank. I used it to access the medium line (t-43 ugh) after grinding the KV. It's also a good rammer of light tanks due to its speed and decent weight.

The reason the hull looks like the IS's hull, is because the IS was actually created based of of it. The KV-13 was created before the IS. Later, the IS was created using the design as guideline.

MM weights the comet the same as a tier 7 heavy, so instead of a medium tank role, you are forced into being one of your team's backbone heavies, and it doesn't have the penetration and alpha damage to make up for its lack of armor or health. You need prem ammo to ensure you can do your whole DPS, plus the prem ammo on the comet is much, much better than the prem on the KV-13, an improvement of 78mm compared to an improvement of only 50mm.

The Top Gun of this tank is available to Tier 6 and higher ( T-34-85 and maybe KV-1S, can't remember ).

I would imagine that one of the selling points of the tanks is it could possibly be a link to a new tech tree to be added in game some time down the line.

Nice video Jingles, but i think you missed the biggest disadvantage: it is not the gun depression (simply keep more attention to the ground) or that it is a "transition tank" between the medium and the heavy line. The biggest advantage is that there are only a few KV-13 drivers AND if you meet people that want to have the Russian expert medal (kill one of each russian tanks in the tech tree)....you are the target number one, because KV-13s are so rare. I nearly can hear the "Oh look a KV-13...i miss that one for my expert medal"-thoughts of the others whenever i drive it :/

I remember driving this back a year ago or so, and i quite agree with Jingles on it. It will bounce like crazy if you angle it, but the cannon realy ain´t much to cheer about. Use it to chase down scouts and lower mediums or harass rear/flanks of higher tier mediums/heavies. And if that opening shows up, go murder the arty. Generaly, a fun little tank to play. If nothing else to hear the raging of the enemy when they bounce shot after shot on you. ;)

Jingles, in those moments when you have issues with the depression just move your tank forward half a meter. When the tank stops it will lean a bit forwards thus giving you more depression, but only for a split second. It will not guarantee a hit, but it does give you a chance to shoot back. Also, tier 7 meds being average to below average? T20, one nasty little bugger faster than the kv13 You can hull down, snipe, brawl, circle and kick-ass with it and i would like to continue but no chars left

When you have a tank that splits into 2 of the same tier, you usually get a nice exp break. Following the normal tree you spend 53k for the T-43 and 49.5k for the IS. However if you learn the KV-13 first you only spend 22.2k for the T-43 and 22.4k for the IS. So if you are going to learn them anyway, you actually get the KV-13 for free. Same thing used to be true for the VK 30.02 D. (Which would be good if you would review :) )

If you want a recommendation for another machine that doesn't draw too much attention, try the T40. American TD at tier 4. 400m view range. Deployed binoculars raise that to 500m, and the thing has a camo rating to boot. May actually be one of the most ideal passive scouts in game. I've nicknamed it the Eye of Sauron- I.... See..... You.....

Oh I now have the KV-13, what a fun little tank! Ok the gun bounces off tanks like the jumbo :( but its tough, 2 games so far, 2 wins, first game gave me a 2nd class mastery and the 2nd game gave me my Ace tanker. I may have to put a couple of rounds of premium on there but you can give the other team a real headache with the KV-13, even went 1 on 1 with a T44 and came out with most of my health, then off to take out an AMX M4 45 (our td got him though, 1 shot off). Great, fun tank, tks Jingles!

I get what you're saying but the tanks we have definitely represent the tanks from history. That's one of the reasons the game's so good. And while I like my Tiger it's definitely a bit outclassed as its not slopey, its armour is fairly irrelevant and the gun is accurate but only an 88 so has minimal alpha damage. All of which is the complete opposite of what a Tiger was really like. The 88 on many German tanks should be putting big nasty holes in things, not bouncing off 45mm armour.

@Mocsk Because those analysis are biased. The Panther had decent sloped armor, a badass gun, but yes, it was easy to light up, yes, it was damn complicated and expensive, and yes, it was a big tank.

The T-43 is a good tank; I own one now and have been playing with it a lot. The simple fact of the matter is that penetration only matters when you're shooting at a tank's frontal armor and don't have the accuracy to hit a weak spot. And if you are ever shooting at a heavy tank's frontal armor in your T-43, you are playing it fundamentally wrong. The T-43 excels at flanking enemies, tracking them, and shredding them with your high fire rate. -Rognik, NA server

Just got mine last night and fully upgraded and damn was it fun 7 kills... using the 85mm top gun... and just on that one game compared to my other Tier 7's this is so far the best one beats the comet (Armour wise) and Panther (Joke tank the way it is in game), T20 and the VK3002D are probably the best other tanks in comparison to the KV as the A44(Fully upgraded) I have found is awful so far... Will have to obviously drive it some more to see if the fun continues...

The KV-13 certainly reminds me of the VK30.02, which I just finished grinding through and liked a lot. Of course the VK has pretty darn good gun depr. and an even crappier gun. What I don't get is how you don't like the T20 Jingles. It's fast, is maneuverable, has good gun depr., and has a great gun. Only thing it lacks is armor, but really, it's a medium tank. I just assume a medium won't bounce much at all and go from there. I sure do loves me some gun depr.

i used to run around with derp gun in my kv-13 wrecking havoc. now with prem rounds can be bought through creds, derp is a viable choice.

Jingles the t-34-1 chineese tank is a nice tier 7 medium, and it has a gun like the type 59, though crap aim and acc, but still it has a nice punch for a tier 7. so check it out if ur not imprest with the other tier 7s

Jingles: about vk 30.02D - in patch 8.5 the ninja buffed it by increasing its RoF (with short 88mm reload time ca. 5 seconds from pre-8.5 around 7 seconds), I also noticed that traverse is much better than before (lowered ground resistance?)

The reason people would say play alot is because playing a lot is the ONLY way to get credits in-game. You just need to play a tier IV or V tank - They usually have the best earnings on average (If you're an average player). It's quit normal to play low-tier battles to finance the high-tier battles if you don't want to spend real life money

it starts off at 3% , then it goes up twice as fast as 100% crew , so basically the same time cuse if you divide 50% ( 1/2 ) into 100% its 50% , and from 50 to 100 is 50 , so the same time

I was going down the Soviet medium line and I used the KV 13 to get the IS without having to do the other fun. I think suffering with the A-20 and the D-10T gun on the 34-85 was enough. (yes, this was before they put the good gun on the 34-85)

Jingles, with all of the tanks you have in your garage, do you buy crews for every single tank? E.g. is the crew that you have in your Object 704 the same crew right from the tier II? Or did you buy a new crew for it?

0.09 is better as it means the round deviates from perfect trajectory by 0.09 metres in any direction. hope i answered your question

Ive actually had my best game in the kv13 with the kv1's gun. Ace tanker top gun 7 kills, and somehow ive yet to replicate that now that I have the top gun. I ended up going for this tank because I was grinding up the IS line and decided I liked meds better so I grabbed this to not have to grind up from teir 3 in the russian line, and it only costs 22k exp to research the t43 and also I believe the kv13 was cheap to research as well.

yes but I was going down the russian heavy line and decided I wanted to do the medium tanks, and luckly there was a transition between the two through the kv13 and researching the t43 from the kv13 ins only like 22k exp

The reason I grinded the KV-13 was because it cost less exp to unlock the IS or the T-43 than it did for KV-1S or T-34-1

I did the KV-13 because I was going for both the Russian Heavy and medium line, I didnt want to do the A-20>T-34>T-34-85 grind so I ground out the KV-13 from the KV-1S and I'm getting the IS and the T-43 off of the KV-13 at this point... I do have to say the Comet's gun seems better in my experience than the KV-13s... Both are pretty bad but the Comet's slight extra pen seems to make it hurt more often..

Don't play the t-43 for a while and grind your way up to a t4, t5, or t6 tank that has a very high damage ability, as damage = credits. I recommend either the KV-2 or the ARL 44 as a non premium money maker. Both can consistently make money due to powerful guns that fire cheap ammunition.

Why do you say that the comet needs prem rounds to make use of its gun? Its best gun (and the vickers below it) both have very similar pen (a few points higher) than the russian 85mm on the t-43 and kv-13. The 85mm on the russians has higher alpha damage, but there is a faster fire rate for the comet. Both guns leave something to be desired for pen in tier 8-9, but if you flank and shoot for sides/rears or weak spots, you shouldnt have any problems.

Jingles u say u dont like many tier 7 meds. What do u think of the T-20 American Med? I find that i can easily dominate all the other Tier 7 med tanks out there and can even be competitive at tier 9 games.

Well Jingles there is reason for earning kv-13, because I have reaserched just Soviet heavy tank line and basicly this little tank is bit of shortcut to the medium tank line. Well still dont know why WG done such a complicated way

People get the Kv-13 when they wanna change lines be it heavy to med or med to heavy and either like it enough to grind on it or they dont wanna go through the kv-1s for example (I refuse to use the Kv-1s...)

I never seem to have the same opinions on these tanks as you, nor any of the guns...idk why I've just never had the problems you're describing where "You need to use premium ammo on the Comet to pen anything above tier 7", or for the 30.02DB's guns being "just no good". Please keep in mind that more than any other factor, the DRIVER influences how well a tank does, not it's selection of modules. Try seeing more than just the black or white of things.

I hate my Kv-13,armor really saves me sometimes,but mostly i get in tier 9 battles and i have no chance,even with best gun.Only reason i got it is because im crazy and i want both the IS-7 and T-62A.

I've had probably 50 matches in the KV-13 now. It's designed to be a heavy support. Same armor as heavy and the speed of a light tank. I usually hang around higher tier or heavy tanks and use the maneuverability to keep them safe. I suggest using the U-11 because the other cannons aren't effective and well it's a derp, it's meant to break tanks, not really kill them. The U-11 can be very effective if you get around the sides and rear of a tank (ie protecting other tanks). It also makes a surprisingly good ramming tank, weighing 39 tons. It can ram lights and mediums fairly effectively. I have Controlled Impact and a spall liner on mine to mitigate damage. It's a jack of all trades tank: good speed, good armor, good gun (if used properly)
