Hi, I'm Dave from the KV-5. I was genuinely not expecting to see myself in a Jingles video lmfao, especially after having played the game for 10+ years on and off. As a couple people in the comments have said, I might've had a better result if i had positioned myself better or played more defensively. While yeah, I can definitely see that after watching the replay myself, I'm just an average scrub trying to have fun in this p2w swamp, and I've only had like 30 battles in the KV-5 before that, so, eh, it went pretty nice anyway :)

@purpleneons I think you did good The KV-5 can be great fun, especially when in a platoon with another preferred MM tank I used to play with a Super Pershing buddy and I used his armor to cover my hull GG and have a good day

13:30 Oh Mighty jingles, may you never change. Actually for Brothers In Arms medal you only have to be in a platoon where everyone survives to the end and each has 3 kills to his name. Two people platoon is sufficient :)

I think jingles was mistaking the teir 10 version (which had a 105mm) for the current version (which has a 84mm gun)

Hey, I'm flamethrowr! When I saw the ASTRON Rex in the thumbnail I got super excited because I thought I might have been featured, and I was correct! The ASTRON Rex is one of my favorite tier 8 premium tanks, specifically regarding the crazy clip potential that Jingles mentioned. Also one thing he didn't talk about was the fact that I didn't fire a single premium round this game, aiming for weakspots is good enough is most tier 8 battles. Also, I love watching you with my dad and I can't wait to show this to him!

Oh Jingles please never change. Brother in Arms is not required to have 3 platoon mates. Just that all platoon mates (regardless if two in the platoon or three) have 3 kills each and survive the battle. Sorry ill go back to my designated spot in the salt mine now.

Astron Rex sounds like a brand of washing powder. For cleaner whites and low temperature non fade colours, I use Astron Rex.

Actually Jingles, Brothers in Arms only requires 2 people in the platoon :) I've been playing since the beta test and I too have only a single Cruicial Contribution.

Actually, Jingles, you were right about Churchill 3. At first there were no premiums higher than lvl 5 and introduction of KV-5 and Loшe was big deal at the time.

Churchill 3 along with matilda and valentine were the original Soviet premiums when in beta. KV5 came post beta IIRC

I've only ever got 1 crucial contribution medal, and not to throw shade on flamethrower and his platoon because 12 kills between the 3 of them is still impressive. But it feels so much more earnt when it is with people who you platoon with regularly and not created during the game when the opportunity arises. Still a very impressive result though sir!

About the KV-5, there's a video out there (forgot by who/what clan) where, in a platoon, they use one KV-5 set up for ramming damage and two FCM 50t's (I believe), set up purely for speed. For a lot of that clip they indeed bomb around like "Choo choo muthafuckah!!!" causing pure panic amongst the enemy :)

Actually, Jingles, FV4020 does not have a 105mm gun, only 83.40mm, and that's why it reloads almost as fast as the intraclip on Astron.

You don't need 3 members in the toon to get the brother in arms medal. You can do with just two, but all members do have to have at least 3 kills and have to survive.

KV5 mostly faces full t8 battles and you don't get to bounce so much in those games. Most t8 tanks played are premium and most of those choose gold only loadouts, they run clan and personal credit boosters and with premium they still make decent profits. And if that type of balance rubs you the wrong way follow my lead and quit the game.

I honestly had a very fun game some years ago when i didnt had a kv5 but a kv4, was one of the last surviving players on the "south" spawn on westfield, and a jpanther 2 thought it was a "good idea" to ram with full hp and speed a kv4 in the back, he was dead and i lost just some hp and got a scratch since i did a ram build, it was a lost but a funny experience for me and a good teaching moment for the jpanther 2 back then 😂.

Actually Jingles the Bat Chat 25T gets EXACTLY 30 rounds, just like the Astron Rex, the difference being that they do 390 average each and you can one clip any medium in the game (and when it happens, it is hillarious)

Whilst the barrage taking was a quite nice view the best thing would have been to pull behind the rock and fight against the Hellcat and the Polish tank, preserving his HP and fighting on, might have gotten more damage and XP out of it ;)

a couple notes about the kv5 it only got a 20mm buff on the r2d2, so very much still a weak spot considering 160mm (post buff) is still well below average tier 8 standard pen the gun might not have decent pen, but it does have good dpm. a base dpm of 2100 is higher than all other russian tier 8 heavies and is 5th overall in terms of dpm for tier 8 heavies across all nations premium matchmaking makes this thing really dumb. stupid fun tank when it works

What the hell was Dave in the KV-5 thinking? FYI he did quit and I'll go so far as to say he allowed the farming. He could easily have gone around that rock for cover and taken on the Pawlack without losing so much health. Yes he bounced 8k+ but to what end? He probably wouldn't have won the game but at least don't let players farm you.

To be fair, if the Astron Rex was to shoot the crossing enemies in the tracks, he would be able to shoot 3 shells into one of them easily, and if he or the team would double track them he could get even more.

flamethrowr here from the replay - I was trying to shoot the tanks in the drive wheel, but the accuracy on the ASTRON Rex is not the best and I kept missing.

I remember a KV-5 trial weekend a few years back. Half a dozen KV-5s per match along with a similar number of American heavies and mediums. The Americans would just go hull down and farm damage and laugh like Jingles at the accusations of hacking.

Back in the Day it was US T-34 or KV-5. KV-5 was cheaper. I don't recall how. But it was what Dave could afford........ Dave liked his KV-5. "Superiore whale players" in their 34's in clan and out trolled hard... Dave would simply push their corp um wrecks in front of R2D2. Wait out gold spammers. Then Ram Kill Them All. I made more Not firing the gun. LOL Man a real blast from the past this one

I love playing the Astron Rex but it's genuinely bizarre how little ammo it gets. Yeah it has a big gun and is a small-ish tank, but this isn't a game of absolute realism and potentially losing a drawn-out battle because you simply ran out of ammo is just detrimental and off-putting.
