I liked watching that teamwork between him and that Chieftain trying to defend that hill against that horde. Impromptu buddies are the redeeming quality of this game.👍

WG's representation of in-game statistics is exactly why they are still in business. They are experts at turning 'nasty slime' into 'bad floor cleaner'

A cousin of my Canadian wife visited his relatives in Scotland. They have a daughter who was the same age and one day, they agreed to go somewhere together the next morning. He was utterly flabbergasted when she told him: "OK, knock me up in the morning!" :-).

Two good players, in two good tanks, playing on the same team and working together = victory (most of the time)

Tier X feels more like 80% gold to be honnest. 50% is more like middle tiers (5-7).

Around the time that 5% figure came out, WG also said that about 25% of shells hitting a Maus is gold, and that was the highest number in the game. Of course, this is YEARS ago and a lot changed.

I played 2.2k battles in the Pz.IC. With around 300 shots with AP each battle there is 660k rounds to mess up the stats. It was also too much work pressing the reload key, just fire until the clip is empty and autoreloads so my hit ratio got ruined forever too lol.

With gold I left because selling skill replacement bullets might be a money earner for them but it destroyed the game for me. Still enjoy the content from Jingles.

10:55 ackshually Jingles the Foch 155 didn't have to work too hard to kill the EBR. It was spotted in that position when the friendly EBR ran through the base six minutes earlier and the Foch found it in the exact same spot, probably AFK.

In just a few days, we have gone from World of logistics all the way to world of statistics. What a journey!

"Rubbers" was also a common American term for water-resistant overshoes, back when people actually wore that kind of thing on a regular basis. Hence the line in Mark Twain's "Notice to the Next Burglar" about "You will find rubbers in the front hall, by that thing which has the umbrellas in it," which similarly conjures an arresting mental image for the modern reader. :)

@The Mighty Jingles: At minute 6:20 he is aiming for the E100 engine deck, because he can create an partial overmatch angle - resulting of his high ground position and the calibre of his gun! ;-) Edit: i think with the last shot he hits where he is aiming for, because for me, that doesnt looks like the turret ring 😅

Looking at the Jingles blurb, what he didn't mention about the Teamwork consumable is that it has a 95% failure rate :P

Perhaps the EBR was part of a boosting service... Like Claus and QB have been showing.

He was going for the engine deck, it becomes easier to hit as the enemy wiggle forwards and back because the tank angles down slightly.. You'll see the reticle go green on the engine deck due to overmatch.

When I went to college, there was a required textbook for Consumer Psychology called "How to Lie With Statistics". It sounds like WarGaming has a well-read copy...

3:28 Actually jingles, air drag scales with velocity^2, so the high speed low weight APCR loses more penetration capabilities over range than regular ballistic capped AP ^^ APDS is a different matter, as it discards its shell and thereby reduces drag.

Fun fact: In WoT Blitz the AMX M4 54 has the 130 mm gun as it's only option... The in-game model however shows the 120 mm. We don't have a whole French single shot heavy tech tree. This is the only one we've got and it's a collectible tank at tier X.

M2 LTs with full gold shoots 200 rounds/battle. You need heck of a lot regular rounds to even that out. low tiers (read every tier) are full of gold spammers and don't forget that WG's bots do also shoot gold.

For the last 30-odd years I've cherished my 'How to Lie with Statistics' - a Penguin Book from the 60s or 70s. We asked 300 members of the public if they liked football - 100% said yes. Data collected at a football match. What the numbers say is rarely as important as who made up the numbers.

The term that never gets used anymore is French Letter (also interesting that the term condum comes from an English Colonel Condum - doctor to King Charles II).

I'd say there is still too much gold ammo being flung around at low tiers. Then again back when I still actively played I at least carried some gold in the low-tiers because you need them for the Pz.IIJ's unless its was a vehicle where you just didn't have the ammorack space to even hold the gold without having to fire all of it in a single good match. Then again also the Cruiser Mk.II got its CS-mortar removed so my main Pz.IIJ hunter couldn't hunt them anymore.

WoT is basically made for teamwork and yet it rarely happens, ah the irony.

Talking about "rubber" reminded me of an off-color comic strip I read many years ago. It was set in WW2, a featured a couple of American women were working in an aircraft factory. The first woman told the second that she had a hot date that night. The second woman asked her if she was going to risk pregnancy because "all the patriotic rubber is in tires." The woman with the date answered by pulling a rather stiff looking condom out of her purse. She showed it to the other and proclaimed, "I had it vulcanized!"

re: Gold Ammo. Problem is there are very little down sides in battle to using gold. Yeah, it's more expensive, but that doesn't mean anything in the battle. Maybe WoT needs the overpenetration mechanic from WoWS as a way to stop high tier from firing gold into low tier.

As a analyst I would like to remind you young Jingles that there are "Lies, dammed lies and statistics" . 5% of all needs to be broken down by tier. Let us pray that they don't put gold ammo into WOWshps.

Oh Jingles, stat warping isn't just exclusive for WOT. They've done it for WOWS as well. They just released a dev blog trying to state that the skill gap of submarine players is exactly like the skill gap between the 3 most popular destroyers, The Kagero, The Gearing, and the Akizuki. Except that the Kagero, Gearing, and Akizuki are pretty much 3 of the OLDEST destroyers in the game and therefore have a lot of battles played in them out of longevity, not popularity. They also had this weird percentile grouping where they had it like those who were in the 0-50% win rate, 51-56% win rate, and the 57% and above. Which is really shady numbers to be presenting. It's almost like at 58%, we might see a population shift. I wonder what would happen if we took those same stats that looked very similar between the ships and subs they compared at their crafted numbers and set them to something like 0-50%, 51-75%, and then 76% and up. That way we're at least saying everyone with a C GPA average win rate is grouped together instead of everyone with a D-.

This guy fires a lot of gold ammo compared to how many terrible shots he takes. This guy is one of those whales in WoT who keeps the game afloat despite the dwindling player base and years of terrible development moves. The sole fact that they brought back the WT E100 after they removed it years ago because how horribly balanced it was is proof that this game is on the verge of death

For me, I do not load gold to shoot lower tiers. I may still shoot lower tier with gold if it's already loaded, then I will queue regular rounds if I intend to keep shooting at that lower tier target. I do feel sometimes it is necessary to load gold to do anything. I am against those being top tier and shoot nothing but gold.

Everyone is giving their 'lost in communication stories', so i thought i would give mine. It comes from the book " the cost watchers"by Eric Feldt ( who commanded them) but it mentions that an Australian Coast watcher position was no longer needed, so the coast watcher ( who was quite a big boi) was called back, he sent a message saying that he was 'knocked up' and needed a lift, To an Aussie that meant he was exhausted,but to the Americans, it meant he was pregnant! the american driver who picked him up upon first sighting him said 'My god it's true!' and to his credit, the coast watcher repeated the story!

Presentation of facts is sometimes really hilarious. When it comes to pollution levels which the papers want to inflate they just pick a very tiny unit like µg/kg (and do the reverse for downplaying it). One time our chemistry teacher was told there was a lot of chromium found in a ground sample somewhere in germany and they wanted a comment on that from an expert. Problem was they didn't know what Chromium it was. Depending on it's oxidation level chromium can be harmless, nessesary for humans (iirc) or very hazardous. He told them as much and they didn't get back to him with the nessesary information for him to give an accurate opinion about the levels found.

5% gold ammo. Right. Thank you for mentioning all the 20 mike-mike and 50 BMG's at Tier 1-3. BTW - Did you know that 50% of all Lotus F127's manufactured since 12-OCT-1805 are still in good working order? Two out of three Formula 1 fans agree. 😀

The gold ammo is only really a problem for the super heavy tanks. Its when the whole thing is about the armor and any idiot can pen you from every angle by just pressing 2 on a keyeboard. Personaly i find it funny that people sling gold at a light tank when they could just load he and be more effective. Maybe its because they have used he and failed to pen done less than half of what they would do with ap and then stared in tanks gg for 2 hours trying to find a sliver of metal on a burrasque that can absorb 90mm he pen from a 152mm cannon while taking only 150 damage. He ne... I mean he rework.

A better statistic would be what percentage of total damage is done by gold ammo.

I kept thinking he was saying “rudder” not “rubber”. Was really confused until he mentioned the eraser.

Notice the screen showing just how much all that gold ammo cost to restock was not shown so we don't know if the player actually made any money there.

This is a good game, thats good. I would prefer to see games where the player isn't in a slightly OP tank, with pure gold. Please select replays with non OP tanks! No gold also. Something that the rest of us can relate to. Regardless, thankyou for your videos and content Jingles.

Most of the shots are fired at mid level of grind ,aka tier8 . Yes not many people fire gold in tier 8 specially while playing most played tanks ,or credit maker gold tanks.

4 remaining tanks charging together taking advantage of numbers, none of that 1 at a time suicide.

296mm of pen will not punch right through an E100 turret. You now need 340mm pen to do that. since the turret of the E100 was buffed a while back.

I don't know about anyone else, but when I'm playing tiers 7-10 one of my goals is to earn credits, or at least break even. That requires me to be very stingy with gold ammo (usually firing none). In contrast when I'm playing tiers 3-5 I'm out to have fun, knowing that I can use as much gold as I like and still break even.
